Hey Koki! Read your last post and was happy that you've come back. Another funny story, but not about getting kicked in the chin. :sad1: I wouldn't want that either! The train sounds like something of a hassle and I don't think I would like it much. I've been on a train in California once aroun San Diego, but that was back in 1999. It was okay, but there were some strange people on there. Have you been on Greyhound? Now that sucks! I have been on there a couple of times and the first warning I get from complete strangers is "Don't go in the bathroom". I wouldn't anyways. I can't stand public restrooms and why do they put the child-changing table right by the restroom door? My poor son gets his "Heinie" exposed and I feel so bad for him. :crybaby2: Some people will stare and stare and I'm like "Hello?????" Makes me so mad! :BangHead: Changing the topic now, what do you plan on studying? And keep up the funny stories...you're great at them. A wonderful personality with a BIG sense of humor.  it!! :peace:

HEY WORKMAMA  ,

I can not even imagine how scary a tornado is I hate thunderstorms I cry like a little girl lol Thank god we don't have them in California Although earthquakes are scary too Specially when you think about drifting into the ocean and shhtuff like that I don't even wanna watch the movie 2012 because it scares me so much.

I know how you feel about the guys they like the thrill. I don't trust hubby either now cuz when we used to drive up to the mountains he would do the dumbest things ever. Like one time he decided to pull over on one of the turn outs and there was a giant boulder on the edge of the cliff and this moron goes on top of the rock and stands there like nothing is wrong I got so pissed off you have no idea. Needless to say we don't go to the mountains anymore lol

Thankgod you have a basement I bet it gives you a bit of peace of mind ;)

Hubby got someone to help him with the rest of the work cuz he doesn't like me getting dirty **awww how sweet* lol I know he is a sweetie he hates it when I go out in the sun and I get sun burnt lol.

Hehe well cya around

Hi Flor, Workmama, Surveydad and everyone else!

Aww Workmama sorry to hear about the bad weather. Be careful out there!!! I'm only riding on the metro trains so they're not Greyhound bad. I remember riding on one of those from California to Florida with my mom and one of brothers. I guess maybe because I was really young it seemed like more fun then it should have. Now that I think about it I feel bad for my mom. Having to ride with all 3 of us on a bus for that long. I'm surprised she didn't "forget" us in Texas. Also...WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE FOR THEM TO KEEP STARING AT YOUR SON WHILE HE'S GETTING HIS DIAPER CHANGED. If they're going to stare they might as well help. Lol tell them to throw out the dirty diaper and hand you the wipes. Sickos.

I'm actually wanting to study to become a mechanic. I loveee cars. And I hate paying ridiculous prices to have someone do what I could probably do for cheaper. But when I told my husband what I wanted, he wasn't happy about that. He wouldn't tell me exactly why he didn't want me to do it, but I get the feeling it's because it's a male dominated profession and because he wants to get into it too. Although I looked into it and women mechanics are on the rise AND they get paid more then male mechanics. I kept trying to get him to tell me why exactly he didn't want me to do it, then he told me that I should go into nursing instead. I almost pushed him out of the car. Not that I don't like nurses or anything, I know they do a hard job and I appreciate them for that. But I know me, and I probably wouldn't be good at it. Especially if the patient died or if they were an *bleep*. So we negotiated me down to collision repair. Which I think is just as good. I really want to learn how to paint cars as well. Then maybe after I get a good job then I can go back to school again with my husband for mechanics. That would be fun going to school with him again...but actually knowing he's there this time. (We went to the same high school and I didn't even know it)

Hi Flor!! (We live in the same state!!!) I was reading your post about the earthquakes and things. 2012 is a horrible movie, not really scary either. Unless wasting about 2 hours of your life on a stupid movie is scary...which it sort of is. Actually less scary and more anger inducing. Oh but I was thinking!!! If there was an earthquake strong enough to shake us free of the U.S. (and if it was weak enough so that nobody got hurt) and we did end up drifting off into the ocean. It would be semi cool to actually live on an island. Can you imagine it? The beautiful floating island of California! We'd be the next Hawaii. Only problem we would have is accidentally floating into hostile waters. But then maybe we can create jobs for people as rowers. Give them an oar and give them a job. I'd probably apply..although I don't have much upper body strength. I'd probably accidentally float us into North Korea trying to make my way to Japan because someone thought it would be a good idea to have sushi for lunch.

Great idea..this is almost as good as a chat room. :D

I am 57, but most think I am in my 40's.  Am discovering the joys of grandchildren...they think I'm weird.  Guess because I refuse to grow up...I mean, what's the fun in that? :dontknow:

 8)

Hello welcome to the "chat room " hope you'll come and see us on a regular basis. Yup we think it is as good as a chatroom we got tired of pointless posts with no real conversations so this is what we had to make do with :)

I 30 and I feel like im still 20 :) haha children always think grown ups are weird lol  And you are totally right there is absolutely no fun whatsoever in growing up. Like I tell hubby (he is about 12 years older then me) I tell him "age is just a number"  Well it was nice getting to know you don't be a stranger :)

thanx!  I love your icon...am still having a prob w/his death.

Hey Surveydad :) Thanks for replying to Flor, Koki, and I. You're so nice to do that! What kind of circus did your girls go to?The circus doesn't even come here, probably because where I live is such as small town. I have to go 26 miles anyways to go shopping to get a good deal. You live on the east coast? Is that up by New York? Can't really remember :- My mom is from New York and I went to visit there when I was 11 years old. Went to West Point and Brooklyn and New York City....so beautiful and much to do! :) Well, have to chat with Flor and Koki...talk later to you. Tell your girls I said HI!!

Hi Flor! :wave I couldn't imagine living somewhere and an earthquake is happening right under my feet! :o I mean what kind of protection would you have for that? Reminds me of the earthquake in Haiti, that was so terrible :( :angry7: :'( I have seen the movie 2012 and Koki is right, it is a complete waste of time for 2 hours, unless you're into Death and actually want the world to end! Why would they make a movie like that anyways???? To scare people? I think it was to lure people in to watch the movie and the film producers can make money. It's all about money if you think about it.: That's sweet of your hubby not wanting you to get dirty or have a sunburn...he must love you very much. How long have you been married? I'll get married later this year, probably October or November. I'm really not sure. Just hope it's soon...and I'll be the happiest girl alive! ;D

Hi Koki! :D Another great post to read and smile about. I think it's great that you love cars and want to be a mechanic! My finance is actually a mechanic....we have something new we can relate to. I think your husband should understand what your passion is and I say go for it! I am a very strong believer in "girl power". I hate listening to men in general...I don't know, I just don't like being told what to do from them. My finance knows a lot about cars and trucks....its a great field to get into if you stick with it. I would say that you could even consider getting your own shop, your profits would be greater because you'll be working for yourself. It would be great to go into an Auto Body Shop and actually seen a woman!! LOL :) I have been learning to drive a standard 5 speed truck, but I don't think my finance trust me enough to drive his truck alone. I get so mad :BangHead: I'm like I KNOW HOW TO DO IT!!! And he'll be like are you sure??? I'm not stupid...but you know guys...they LOVE their cars or their trucks...and won't let anyone else, let alone a woman touch or drive their vehicle. So seeing a change in women dominating mechanics would let them have a taste of their own medicine. :) ;) Well c-ya later, Bye! :peace:

Hi all. Just thought I'd post before I give my daughter her last bottle for the night ( unless she wakes up in the middle of the night ). Today was by far the worst day. The temp here got up to around 90. I ended up stripping my daughter down to a onesie. Tomorrow is supposed to be 90 as well. I plan on keeping her in just a diaper. Lord I really hate hot weather. Anyhoo, I'm off to give a bottle then head to bed.

Hey workmama, they went to a small circus the they had a a local college here. My wife said it was like a freak show circus, complete with a boxing kangaroo, a elephant caring a kid around in his mouth and during intermision she said there was a guy walking around with a big snake....the girls were bored but the tickets were free so you get what you pay for I guess. We take them to the ringling brothers circus every year and that is a great circus.

What's this I read:  :D

"I hate listening to men in general...I don't know, I just don't like being told what to do from them"

You know we are not all like this  ;)....I think it great that koki wants to be a mechanic, if you find something you love doing why not make a career out of it, I don't get that just because men do a job Women can't.....Is this really how the majority thinks I just don't get it. ???

I do live on the East Coast...In New Jersey about 45 min south of NYC... There is alot to do and alot of people there too.

Well I guess I will get back to work, counting down the Mins till I get to go home....My oldest started T-ball yesterday and she asked me if we could practice when I got home from work today :D

Hey Surveydad! Sorry if I offended you in anyway! :-[ I meant that the men that are in my life are just soooo bossy, eventhough I know not all men are like that. Maybe since your male, you can tell me why do guys act like Mr. Know-it-All? Just the guys around here act like this and I don't know why. I am just glad that you're one of the good guys that a girl can talk to and you take time to listen to us women. :notworthy: Hope your daughter likes playing T ball, I did when I was little, but wasn't good at it. In highschool, baseball was often awful...I was so little, I would always get stumbled on! :sad1: Once, this boy just ran right into me, while I was shouting "I got it!!!" He fell on me, but he catched the ball in his glove...I was so mad.  :BangHead: Plus to top it all off, my PE teacher made my team run about a mile because we lost!!! I laugh at it now, but back then it wasn't funny at all! :angry7: :crybaby2: Well, I thought I would tell you a funny story to change the mood from my last post! C-ya, BYE! :peace:

HI EVERYONE! Okay I would have quoted everyone but I'm starting to notice that my posts are always HUGE! Doesn't leave much space for anyone else. I'll try my best to cut down. However...I make no promises.  ;D

@Workmama ~ HAIIIIII! I'm so excited to know that your fiance is a mechanic...if you don't mind and are not busy on my next post can I ask you about...a million questions? I tried looking up these mechanic related questions online but they're so scattered and the differences between one answer and the next is HUGE so I want to hear from someone who actually knows. Also, how is your driving going? I can't drive a stick shift whatsoever. Or maybe I do...I'm probably a prodigy at it, I just never tried. LOL! My husband knows but we have no car with stick and I think he would probably refuse to teach me. But that wouldn't stop me from going out and trying.

@surveydad ~  ;D Thank you very much for the support! I'm hoping it's not how the majority works. I think my husband is just worried I'll get carried off by some big burly mechanic. Lol I'm a little worried too that sounds sort of scary. That and I know he wants to study mechanics as well but is unable to at the moment. So it may be a jealousy thing. I did feel bad about that so I'm going to wait for now and work on collision repair (which I don't mind because I actually want to learn that as well) that way I can get a job and then let him go to school and hopefully not get swept away by a big burly mechanic.

@Any one who wants to read  ;D ~ Another funny story. So while I'm waiting for school to start (in August YAY!). I've been applying online for as many jobs as possible. I received a call from a guy from Taco Bell. He said the hours were going to be any where from 7p - 5a. (Do people want tacos that early in the morning?) He asked when I could come in and trying to sound flexible I said whenever he was okay with it....he had me come in that day at 6p. It was 4:30p when he called. It didn't give me much time to prepare. I had to throw together an interview outfit from clothes that I have worn to court (for various reasons). So when I got there I totally bombed on the interview. I hate talking about myself. He also asked why I wanted to work there....I don't know why I want to work at Taco Bell! Maybe because I have a great passion for handing burritos to random strangers through a hole in the side of a building. Maybe because I have an undying love for Americanized Mexican food. Or better yet because I love not staying home with my husband at night so I can go and make tacos at 2 o'clock in the morning. Lol anyone have any interview tips? I should probably stop applying at places I can see myself eating at but not working at. Suffice to say I don't think I got the job...but I still love Taco Bell fruitistas.

Crap...my post was long again. SORRY!
