@ workmama That's horrible. I am really shocked about the weather. My thoughts go out to their families. Keep In mind that you don't have to deal with this alone. Everyone on here are like one big family. There are countless people who can be an e-shoulder to cry on If you need It.  :angel11:

Anyone else on here having a child cutting teeth? If so, what works for your child? My daughter's doctor said to use both Infant Tylenol and teething tablets. My daughter was up all day because she's cutting her molars. I feel so bad because there Is only so much I can do for her. I finally got her down by giving her some milk In a bottle. She's using a sippy cup but It was soothing to her to get milk that way and for me to rock her to sleep.

Anyway, my boyfriend and I made a break-through earlier. We are going to try and do a date night next Thursday. My mother can watch the Munchkin so we can get away for a bit. I think It'll help. We used to do that as often as we could but then I got pregnant and was put on bed rest then went Into premature labor so things kind of show-balled so we used our time to visit her In the hospital. I'm hoping thing's work out. Anyway, I'm getting tired and bed Is calling.

Hope everyone Is doing good.

TaintedLust,

I'm really glad you both are making a break-through!  Enjoy your date night and have fun!  When you think about it, after describing everything that you and he and your little one have been through, it's not surprising to hit a bump in the road, so-to-speak.  Hopefully, now that you both are facing it boldly with each other, that bump in the road will smooth out and you'll go back to your wonderful family togetherness you both are working toward
:)

As far as teething, it sounds like the bottle may be a good help for a bit.  I remember when our oldest was teething like that we were at wit's end trying to figure out what to do.  A friend who had already gone through it with her oldest suggested one of those tiny bottles of "Southern Comfort" and a q-tip.  At first, I was horrified to think of using something like that on our baby.  We tried it with just the tiniest dab on his gums in those molar spots.  It was amazing how it helped him.  We really only did it a couple of times and then he was past the major pain after that.  I hope your little sweetie feels better soon!

I hope you and yours have a nice Memorial Day weekend!

Julie   :)

Yeah I think It'll help If we try and go out every once In a while. We used to do that often but once Ashleigh was born we didn't bother. We were too busy going back and forth to the hospital. Because we stopped going out or having us time we drifted apart a little. Another Issue on why we fight Is, I don't have many friends here. There are a few people I talk too sometimes but cannot really call them a friend. I don't really have much confidence and my self esteem Is really low. Years of hearing negative things from family/friends has made It difficult for me to believe It when I get a compliment from my boyfriend.

As for the teething, some days are better than others. Mostly she just fights her sleep. Right now she's standing up In her bed talking to herself lol. It throws her off when her daddy Is home Wednesday/Thursday then come Friday she looks for him and I have to take her from room to room and say " see, no dada ". I honestly have to do that every single Friday night around bedtime.

Lol sad thing, I didn't even realize It was Memorial Day. It'll be just like every other day for me more than likely. I normally stay home with the Munchkin and watch way too many cartoons.

TaintedLust,

I'm glad you've got Fusion Cash - there are some nice people in here.  After getting to know different ones, it's nice to be able to say that some have become great friends, even if online.  I know what you mean about the being home part.  With my asthma difficulties I'm home a lot more because of my allergy cells not protecting me like they should.  Just to go outside sometimes is hard because too many things trigger the allergies and asthma.  Plus, dealing with the chronic bronchitis.  I started asthma shots about 7 months ago where they are supposed to go in and help protect those cells for me.  They have only just started kicking in some.

I remember the cartoon days with my little ones (grown up now) and now get to enjoy the new generation of cartoons with my small granddaughters.  Even my adult children still watch some cartoons from childhood.  Those days with our little ones pass way too quickly and I really miss them sometimes.

I hope yours feels better with her teething.  That's so sweet how she's missing her dada when he's not there on Fridays.  Just imagine how much she would miss you if you had to leave her for a day.  She would miss you horribly!!!

You just keep on keeping on with what you and he are working on!!!!  I remember a comment you recently made about offering your e-shoulder and I just want you to know that it also applies to you - I have an e-shoulder whenever you need it!  Hope you have a sweet weekend with your family.

I had a little spare time so here I am lol. My daughter ( Ashleigh ) Is watching Spongebob and being a little angel. She woke up crying but she quickly stopped as soon as she saw me ( I heard her cry out once so I was standing by her bed ). I am so excited about Thursday. We're going to try and do our date night. I hope we can. I am not going to know how to act lol. My mom will probably jump up and down at the chance to babysit. This will be the first time we've ever had anyone watch her. Today was a pretty decent day aside from It being 91 here. I really hate summer. I also hate winter too lol.

That sucks about Asthma and everything. I dealt with that as a teenager but I think my biggest problem was being around a few cats which made It worse. I hope you feel better soon.

This post Is going to be short. I need to make me something for lunch and do some cleaning.

I can't ever believe the nerve of some people, to be thanking god that the people of joplin, I think I heard 139 now, are dead.

I am an glade that you made it out of there , you were one of the lucky ones, I read that there is still about 100 people still missing I just pray for there familys, it is so horrible.

Did you make it to that memorial service that the president was supposed to be there and was he?

I will continue my prayers for you and all the people effected be this Tornado

Workmama,
We're still keeping up with what's happening in Joplin.  Has your husband found any information out about his aunt?  That town has really suffered through this catastrophe.  I hope you are doing okay, yourself.

TaintedLust,
I'm glad you had a little spare time to pop in.  You sound more on the upbeat side today - I'm glad you and he are going on a date night Thursday - I really hope you two have a wonderful time.
Our weather is warm here, too.  I don't do as well in the hot weather.  Spring and fall are typically my best times with my asthma.  Summer is beautiful - I just can't handle the heat very well.
You take care - and I'll see you on here again
.

Surveydad,
That's awful what you are talking about (the ones thanking God that those ones are dead that were killed by the tornado.)  I have a hard time understanding how someone could pray like that instead of being thankful that there are people alive considering the damage in that town.  Those people that died have family and friends who mourn for them and I'm sure would be upset at the people praying like that.

I hope you and your family are doing well.  Have a nice Memorial Day!

Hi All,

I haven't gone to bed yet. Been having horrible hot flashes and I don't wanna crank the air on too much otherwise Ashleigh's nose gets all stuffy. To pass the time I made up my shopping list for Wednesday. Ash Is getting low on diapers along with everything else. I've also got the few coupons I plan to use all ready and In my wallet. I don't do like the people on that show but I do use coupons on the Items my boyfriend and I normally buy. I'm about to go crawl Into bed but I may stay up a bit longer to see If Ash wakes up.

Anyway, hope everyone Is doing well and I'll pop back In when I have the chance.

TaintedLust,

I know several people who are using the extreme couponing, but I haven't really taken the time to see the show or see exactly what they do.  I use coupons anyway and take advantage of the special offers in the circulars that help us out.  Also, living where I do in a small town full of farmers, we have friends who are always dropping by with food from their crops.  We don't farm but try to find other opportunities to give them things, too.

Hope those hot flashes are better now.  I hate those things when they come.  I had them bad a couple of years ago through last year.  They have eased up a lot now and I'm so glad for that.

Hope you are enjoying your day!

The people from that show are hoarders. They buy stuff they don't use. I even saw one show where the woman went dumpster diving for coupons. I only use coupons for things I already buy. I'd rather not become like them and have my apartment overrun with crap we don't use.

( Random: My daughter Is watching Spongebob and Patrick did something funny and she got the cutest smile on her face )

Anyway lol. I had to share that. As for the hot flashes, they've been getting worse over time. Sometimes I get them so bad that I have swear pouring down my face. When that happens I normally turn the fan on the highest setting and sit In front of It until It passes. Sometimes I wonder If I'm going through the change early. By the way my name Is Heather. Anyway, going to clean the kitchen then put my Munchkin down for her nap.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Heather,

My name is Julie.  It's nice getting to know you!

Yes, a couple of years ago until last year, I was having a time with those hot flashes.  Found out recently, when they started easing up, that the change was part of the problem.  Plus, I was really sick with my asthma/bronchitis issues.  At least those flashes aren't as often now, thank goodness!  I, too, have my own little personal fan that I keep near me.  It helps when I need it!  My hubby does tend to keep it as cool as we can afford it since I breathe better with my asthma when it's cooler.

Thanks for sharing the cute moment about your daughter!  Those moments are precious, aren't they?

Talk to you later!

Julie  :)    :cat:

Hey what a great idea.  I have been on this site for almost two years now and love reading the forum messages.  I am retired (well, semi-retired in that I have a part time job as a librarian) living in SE Ohio.  FOrmerly from Colorado.  Love my new life here but wish I had a little more ready cash, hence, how I came to FusionCash.  But, reading the forum keeps me in touch with what people of all ages think about things and once in a while I feel lilke something I contribute helps some body.
