What is the worst scam you ever got caught up in....  I tried the whole assemble at home thing and got burned on 4 different companies!    I really would love to assemble items at home in my free time  but just dont seem to be no REAL assembly jobs for at home....

I got hit for 100 bucks to do secret shopping.  However, I did use their service and found a gig working for walmart.  I did 10 secret shopping trips to walmart stores and paid for my membership,  but never found another gig worth my time.  and my wife was happy cause at least i made the 100 back...

I paid $90 for a "Stuffing envelope" job but never received anything back. A few months later I got a letter from the courts saying there is a lawsuit against the company I was working for and that I would receive a $90 settlement compensation.

If you're looking for real assemble-at-home work, and don't mind making miniatures, Cottage Industries is a good company. I worked for them for a while, a long time ago, but when I got a full time job I no longer had the time for making miniatures. But I did get paid by them, and they are very honest and helpful.

I checked them out and they have a notice saying they did away with home workers because of the economy. Too bad, that sounded like a good deal.

Watch out for the  mystery shopper scam that sends you a check and advises you to keep 10%.  They then want you to wire the funds to someone else and your out that money as the check doesn't clear.    :(

The beauty of the forums - sharing info.  Not only do we learn to navigate FC but keep each other aware of the sharks and scams out there that prey upon us.  Thanks to all who contribute and provides info to give us a heads up!!

This is a great topic, never been scammed myself because I have never invested any money on work-from-home supposed jobs.  My motto is "if it sounds too good to be true, then it's probably a scams"!  I only go for the FREE no investment type gigs.
