talking to oneself?
« on: July 07, 2010, 05:13:31 pm »
Normal or weird? Helpful or harmful?? I find I've been doing it more lately-I think it's been helping me communicate/express ideas better, but when I stop, it's just so weird, and sometimes I realize there's people nearby that might actually hear me ... lol

Well, if you find yourself answering yourself aloud in a different voice then you need to be concerned (LOL) :bootyshake:

I'm pretty sure it's normal. Doing it in front of other people is a little weird, though.

I talk to myself a lot. Before my dog died, at least I could say I was talking to him but I still go walking in the kitchen past his spot talking or commenting on something on tv. I know I'm a little "off" sometimes anyway. :)

just clip something to your ear make it look like you are talking to someone else that way you can argue with yourself answer your own questions and whatever. people around would just think your up on the latest technology

I will talk to myself sometimes if I really need to remember something or when I am setting up my band equipment, I'll will talk to myself so it helps me slow down and make sure all of the cables are plugged in to the correct place and all of the patches are on the correct setting

I talk to the dog. LOL so it doesn't look like I'm talking to myself.

Since I worked in a library for 4 years as a teenager, talking to myself is natural.  It gets pretty boring when your stocking shelves all day.  :P
