Nosy Neighbors

I need some advice about what to do about nosy neighbors without making outright enemies of them.

if they are two nosy keep your windows closed and they will go a way after while or you can in vite them then u will have a new freind to shear thing with .that may be all they are looking for in the first place.

Just try to keep to yourself and maybe they will mind their own business.

Try not to look at them when you see them,walk really fast.Or just ask them if they want a picture it lask longer.

luckily, i've never had nosy neighbors, but i think
i'd probably do something shocking (and pretend it
was completely natural for me to do, not even
acknowledging that they were paying attention
when i did it) ... if they want something to look at,
i say give it to 'em    but be clever about it...

maybe that's just adding fuel to the fire, but it
would be a little more indirect than calling them
out on it, which i think would make both parties
feel completely awkward?

have the last laugh!

I cannot give any real pertinant advice, unless I have more details about how they are noisey and what they do. Sorry, I can't be of more assistance.

Perhaps some neighbors are just trying to be friendly and not really nosy.  I was going to mention the same thing the last poster did and that was, without more details, it could be hard to give advice that fits the situation.  How are they being nosy?  People probably have different ideas as to what nosy can be.

I guess just try to avoid contact with them.  I guess you will have to time your activities to when they may be away or in the house if they are too nosy.   Perhaps if the situation is elevated you will just have to be honest with them.

Thank you all for your responses, I've tried most of them, even the shocking, clever ploy, the fence works better than anything, but Man! was it expensive!! Also, the other neighbors near me are trying to get rid of them too. I guess Ill just wait them out and maybe they'll get bored.   Good luck to any of you if you encounter any like this.

It could be a sad thing, that maybe they are trying to make new friends.  I am not clear on how people are being nosy in the postings here.   I understand that it is a two way street for a friendship to exist.  I find that my neighbors are casually friendly.  We have some get togethers, but not too often. We always wave and sometimes also have a few minutes or so of causal conversation with a number of our neighbors.

Try talking with them about it nicely.  Hopefully they will leave you alone!!  Some people are just nosey by nature and nothing will change that.  Try to ignore them if talking to them isn't your thing.  Good luck!

          I have had my share of "those nosy or noisy neighbors"...I avoid them all the times.
