Science has proven that whether or not you're gay is either due to genetics or something that happens in the womb. Look it up. :]

Can u really be born gay or bi and if so who determines that and how can it be detected before birth so we can know how to raise the child????
I don't think anybody wakes up one day & decide, " I want to be gay today." You can't detect child's sexuality before birth. During development many things can go wrong. Internal & external stresses. Hormonal triggers are switch  on & off depending on the gender. Sometimes when the switch to turn off hormonal triggers doesn't happen thus you end up with a he that should have been she. Studies have found that during the wars in WW2 studies have found in the womb stress from the war increase the likelihood of children being born the wrong gender or in conflict with their sexuality. It's even more common in nature. Some fish have the ability to switch genders when needed. If all the male fish are killed off, the alpha/dominate female fish will switch genders to become the male fish. In Humans what happens during development is what determines the sexuality of the new born. And as always, something can go wrong & it's nobody's fault. If you're a parent with this issue, just love the kid. So, sorry, I couldn't be more specific, My biology, genetics, physics, & chemistry's kind of rusty. Hope this help you out! :fish:

So are people who have a sexual attraction to children born that way?? Should we just say that it's not their fault they are attracted to young people? If an old man loves a young teenage girl, who are we to stand in the way of genetics?! All those poor pedophiles in jail, suffering judgment for a condition they were born with.  :crybaby2:

Gaa!  Christians with their fallacious analogies!

It's quite simple: pedophiles HURT people.  Gays don't.

Adults can **consent** to being in a sexual relationship.  Kiddies can't.

So then if a 15 year old girl engages in consensual sex with an older man....they are not hurting anyone. This man just so happens to like em young, he was born that way right? So why does the law prosecute them?

Well 15 is still considered a child.  It would not be in her best interest to be engaging with him at that age most likely, even if it were "consensual".  She probably doesn't have enough life experience to realize she's being taken advantage of, but the older man does.

I am not really sure if one is considered gay when young. I would think that is a personal choice either way you look at it. No one can actually prove that it is genetic.

i have only read some of these posts... but I am not sure what to think.
i'm  staight.... I'm married and have a son.
My husband is a bit afraid of our child being "gay" .... I don't know what to think.
although not what you "plan" for -- not sure that I can change how I raise him..... he is my SON.... love him to death no matter what choices he may make with his life.

some of the original question seemed to suggest you could change "environment" to prevent a child from being gay -- WHAT???? I think all children should be raised open minded and exposed to diversity.
