If You eliminate grocery bills then you don't eat, you don't eat then you die.  Now unless there are programs out there that are giving away nutritional foods everyday, then I want to know where they are.  Groceries have become so expensive now days, that its impossible to buy what you actually need.

I dont think you can actually ELIMINATE a grocety bill, but you can decrease it, there are many food banks, and also food stamps if you eligible It all depends on your financial situation

i do agree that groceries have went up in price,
but nothing beats the extremely high prices i've found
at the big name places (giant eagle, meijer, etc).
i cannot imagine paying $6 for salad dressing, or
$5 for apple juice. i don't care how many coupons
they shove in my mailbox, i won't step foot into a
ridiculously priced massive chain. gah!

the crowds of people that spill in and out of those
places have absolutely no room to complain about
prices, in my opinion. (not saying anyone here is,
just speaking in general!)

luckily i live in a place where locally owned grocery
stores haven't been kicked out by monopolies yet,
and i fully support them because they support my
wallet!  ;D
[ we all have a place in history. mine is in the clouds. ]

I've cut it way back by using coupons and growing my own vegetables.

This would probably be possible if you do what freegans do.

Discover Channel aired a show before about freegans and what they did to get free groceries. They knew when grocery stores were replacing foods, and would visit to take whatever they wanted from what were planned to be thrown away. They did look at the different foods first to make sure nothing was wrong with them.

There is no way you can do this.  I would love to eliminate the $300 plus bill each month but unless you eat out all the time you are not going to eliminate it for good.

i agree. you can't totally eliminate your grocery bill but can decrease it. i mostly stock up when there are good sales and use coupons at times. i sign up for free samples online. they either send you a free package of their product and a coupon for cents off or send you a coupon for a free package of their product!! they always come in handy.

now that would be a dream come true...   Rural people seem to take in in the shorts when it comes to prices...   We drive 2 hours to Denver to buy our food   we buy for a month at a time because the prices here are so high...  yes we really do save money with taking the 4 hour round trip...

i have cut back our grocery bills with one simple thing: making lots of stuff from scratch. it is way cheaper to buy the ingredients needed for baking than it is to buy the boxed stuff at the store, and in most cases making it at home is way healthier. the biggest cuts were protein bars. my husband would eat 2 a day at work, and they usually go for about $1.50 a piece, so that was at least $60 a month. i spent $14 on protein powder, oats, nuts, dried fruit and honey, and was able to make 2 seperate batches of $16 bars each, and still have enough ingredients to make another batch and a half. assuming i make another 24, that makes the cost of each bar about 25 cents apiece

There is no way to elimante a grocery bill expect for not buying them.  I use coupons all the time and still have some to pay.  There are some people crafty enough that they do get out of paying one cent even down to the last penny of sales tax using coupons.  There is a lady that lives here that our local grocery store hates to see her come in b/c she gets hudreds if dollars of food and she has enough coupons that zero's out her entire bill.  But it takes lots ot time and effort.  My sister usually saves ablut half or little more of her grocery bill using coupons.  It really depends what yo want to do about your spending habits and if your willing to go extra mile to save or not.   :dog:
