In this economy, how are YOU do'in?
« on: August 07, 2010, 12:26:29 pm »
I hope everyone's doing great and can afford to pay ALOT more in taxes because....we are going to have to pay for this now one way or the other:   http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1300852/Spanish-police-close-public-beach-Michelle-Obamas-250k-Spanish-holiday.html  Did someone just say "they deserved" it?  REALLY?  For what exactly?  A n d...don't forget this is in addition to that Hawaiian vacation with a 100 million dollar expense on the US Economy... http://blogs.law.harvard.edu/philg/2009/12/21/the-cost-of-obamas-hawaiian-vacation/  Has the US ever had a President spending so much money so foolishly?  If someone wants to spend like that, shouldn't it be their own personal money?  Why are so many clipping coupons, shopping yard sales, trying to find money anywhere to survive and then paying taxes for THIS?  Someone, please explain this to me.... :dontknow:

Considering I'm not a Darfur war orphan, I'm doing damn good. It could always be better, but I'm doing good.

Has the US ever had a President spending so much money so foolishly?

Ehhh... The last one did spend a couple Trill on an illegal and immoral war.  But he didn't kill babies and isn't Muslim so I guess it's ok.

Ummm It sure wasn't 9/11.

And if you DO think that had ANYTHING to do with it, I cannot further this discussion.

I'm guessing God told him to invade.

Well I'll say we all deserve better because that "better" is indefinately perfectable as time goes on. But compared to a lot of the rest of the world, we're doing okay in the here and now despite our supposed economy-reactor meltdown.

I'm guessing God told him to invade.

Unfortunately it's really not that far from the truth...

...but another topic for another time.

I'm doing just fine.

I'm personally doing just fine as far as the economy goes. Of course I'm single and don't have a family to support, just myself, so that probably has something to do with it. Either way there are people out there in far worse conditions than any one here in the States so we should just all be greatful for what we have....it could be a lot worse.

doing better than i was in 2008, but could be better.

thing is my company is quick to point to the economy when lowering our wages, but slow to restore wages & promotions when the economy turns back positive.  also, 10% unemployment is making it tough to find another job; where are all these new jobs obama keeps talking about?  has anyone actually first-hand experienced the positivity he talks about?   >:(

I have done ok in this economy but I am retired and drawing SS and working working full time at Wal-mart.  It is a shame when a person reaches retirement age they can not make it on SS.  But I thank God I am able to work and keep my bills paid.

Even though I just lost my job last month (and it was my own fault, nothing to do with the economy) I am doing just fine. I'm going to be taking a couple "refresher" classes for what I went to school for and I'm going to get myself on the right path again. Bills are all paid up and everything is looking good for the near and also distant future. Of course I'm single, have minimal expenses (I pay my folks rent and that's it), and I'm single with no rugrats running around. Of course I'm a very fortunate person no matter what.

This year isn't as good as the past few years.  My hubby retired, we moved, and he got a part-time job. I had to give up my job when we moved and have only just been hired part-time this past Aug. But, we're hanging in there.  Next year has to be better, right?
