Well...a week ago we found out that my husband has a 95% chance of getting a good promotion at work...which means over $100 more on the week.  If all goes well with that promotion, he may possibly have another one by the new year.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed; I have nothing but faith that he does a good job, but I have no faith in his bosses, if that makes sense.  Plus, I'm looking into doing some things at home to try to make some extra cash as well (besides FC, that is, LOL) such as some of the crafting things I do.  So, I've got nothing but hope and fear for the future!

Even though I just lost my job last month (and it was my own fault, nothing to do with the economy) I am doing just fine. I'm going to be taking a couple "refresher" classes for what I went to school for and I'm going to get myself on the right path again. Bills are all paid up and everything is looking good for the near and also distant future. Of course I'm single, have minimal expenses (I pay my folks rent and that's it), and I'm single with no rugrats running around. Of course I'm a very fortunate person no matter what.

I have done ok in this economy but I am retired and drawing SS and working working full time at Wal-mart.  It is a shame when a person reaches retirement age they can not make it on SS.  But I thank God I am able to work and keep my bills paid.

Chins up, soldiers! I'm sure things will get better for both of ya.

I know things are getting better, the stock market has done real good the past several weeks, but yesterday it fell and hopefully will be up to day.  I feel sorry for all of the ones that have lost their jobs.  My son and his wife lost their jobs at the same time as the factory closed and my son was out of work for 14 months.   He has gone back to work with another company here in town and they are getting back on their feet.  We had to help them with differnet things but was glad I could.

I have chickens and trade eggs for fresh vegetables from a local produce man.  I also plant a garden.  I live in Florida and shrimp from the ocean come into the river to spawn in late summer. For some reason( probably due to lack of rain) the shrimp are still in the river and very large now.  We netted about 100 lbs. last night.  Already had about that many in the freezer too.  I guess I will be seeing how many different ways I can cook shrimp.
When I make lots of money I will show everyone

Have you ever noticed though its either the one who make 4000 a month or more who try to get the ones who make less than 1000 more money to them.

Barely getting by.  Paying bills every month, but not much more.  Husband had to transfer out of state for a job.  Must be nice to be the president and go on vacation and play golf all the time.  This presidency is the worst thing since Jimmy Carter.  They put us more and more into debt and then blame Bush for everything.  Just like schoolchildren!  Take responsibility for your actions!

Another citizen who expects things to get better over night. This mess is going to be with us for decades. Expect no less.

I thank God for everything I do have.  Good food, shelter, clothing, and the necessities of life provided.  Not as flush as previous 2 years, but still okay.  Like someone else mentioned, I just have myself.

I feel so sorry for those that have lost jobs.  Especially families raising children.  We have a food pantry, and it's almost doubled this last year....people needing food.  The holidays are coming, and we can all make a difference to those hardest hit.  Even a little bit helps.  Most of us just have to look as far as our neighbors on our own street.

Sigh......as much as I'd like to think otherwise, your probably correct. :(
