First off, I LOATHE McDonalds for everything but their Breakfast menu. I love their sausage biscuits. "YUM"

But I would have to say, my all time favorite Fast Food joint would have to be............*drum roll please*.............
!!!! ARBY'S !!!!

I absolutely & thoroughly enjoy their Roastbeef Cheddar Melts on those Onion infused Buns!
 :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

But the thread didn't make me hungry....I made homemade Lasagna lastnight and having some for lunch right now.

Maybe at a later date while I'm reading everyones responses, I get the urge to hop into my Jimmy and drive on over to visit my good friend, "Mr. Arby"

Ohhh Wow I forgot all about Arby's.  I haven't had that since I was a little kid and lived in NY.  Now that I am in RI I have no idea were to find one.

As for that pasta dish you made it sounds good.

I also made pasta last night with my home made Hot Salsa and Beef sause on it and then sprinkled fresh Romono Chease on it.  ;D  By the way I'm a cooking school grad LOL but I still love fast food.  go figure LOL :icon_rr:

I would have to say Checkers is one of my favorites..  I love their fries, and their burgers have a different taste.  Their milkshakes are off the charts..  I have one about 2 minutes from my house, and now I'm hungry lol

we had a local joint that made 3/4 lb burgers.... and you could have anything you wanted thrown on.... (i'd have grilled green peppers and onion with CHEESE).

they were HUGE.... and the best burgers i've ever had.... no lie.

they sold out to some mexicans and now we have..... YET ANOTHER .... mexican place in which to eat.

like we need another.

I'm of Italian heritage & was raised in the South. So both aspects of that cooking genre are my passions. Although I can cook anything, I lean toward the Southern/Italian in me. I absolutely LOVE to cook!
And very rarely do we go out to eat, let alone fast food as I prepare hot, homemade meals daily.
But on those perticular hot, sticky, humid summer days, where cooking is unbearable, we go out to eat!
Other times, I just fire up the grill! (Yes, in my household, I do the grilling). ;D
I guess I fall into the category of a "Foodie".....maybe I should get my own show on Food Network and travel the globe like Rachael Ray....Now THERE'S some food for thought!
I was going to do the whole "Chef" thing when I was younger (In my early 20's), perhaps open my own restaurant, etc. But a passion of mine had always been animals. So I went down the Veterinarian Science road instead!
Anywho...What is your all time favorite food?? An answer involving fast food is NOT acceptable! LoL
And what is your favorite thing to cook?? I love hearing from fellow foodies.
Yes, I've seen your thread regarding the posting of recipes...thinking of one that I will actually share! Most of my recipes were handed down, many generations, so we have kept them in the family. I have made up some recipes myself...so give me time & I will post one in that thread.

I agree about Arbys. They have gotten a bit pricey. But the main reason why everything has gone up in price.....Gas prices! (This includes Diesel as well)
They will tell you that they have their products delivered via trucks - These trucks use Diesel - Costing the companies to shell out more dough to compensate for the fuel prices - Hence passing the cost to the consumers who also pay the price!

For example: I went to Wal Mart the other day to get coffee. I drink Maxwell House. The day before they had their big canisters @ $5.00. Next day they were @ $8.49! Kicking myself in the  :bootyshake: for not buying it when it was @ the $5.00 price!

I think a lot of Wal Marts price increases though has to do with the fact that they did away with their Layaway.
As I noticed the increases shortly AFTER they got rid of this great service to their consumers. So they raised prices to compensate for the fact that they actually lost A LOT of their income as an outcome to them ridding the chain of the Layaway. They won't admitt it but it's self evident. THEY FLUCKED UP!!! And now WE, the consumers pay!

Many people can just go to another store to try & get better deals. But in my small town, where we have Super Wal Mart, Food Lion & Kroger - Wal Mart is still the better option as the smaller grocery chains are much higher & more outrageous than Wal Mart. And we also have no stores here that offer Layaway. Lots of people got screwed over, especially during the holidays.

I have to say your dream of having your own Resterunt reminded me of a dream I had many moons ago.  Unfortanatly many years ago I became a burn victom at one of the resterunts I worked at.  I was burned 1st 2nd and 3 degree burns over 25% of my upper body and almost died from my burns.  However resently after almost 15 years I am finaly able to go back in to a profesional invierment of the kitchen.  It has taken many years of recovery not so much phisicaly but mentaly.  If you looked at me today you could never tell I was a burn victom because the scars on the outside heald but the scars on the inside haven't healed too well.

I am truly sorry to hear that. But I am glad at the same time that you've taken that step to get back into what you're passionate about. No matter how long it's taken!
