My mom has always had all of us go to bed at 7 on school nights [until we were like 13!], but my dad has my 6 year-old and my 8-year-old sister going to b ed at 8:30, but theyre a pain to get up...  I dont think its strange that a 3-year-old is going to school. I went to a private school at 2-3 years old

@ madaho~ the 3 yr old maybe in preschool.

When I had my older kiddos in preschool they went to bed at 830 on a school night. They are now going in 1st and 3rd grades and they will be going to bed by 8-830 the latest. As a mom of 3 boys and who taught preschool for 13 yrs I recommend putting them to bed no later than 830 earlier if needed.

You have to consider the amount of sleep they are getting.  Kids usually need at least 8 hours of sleep.  Some studies have suggested that kids and teens really need 9 or 10 hours sleep.  Base this on what time they are going to bed and getting up.

Well as you being the parent when you say.  8pm is plenty late.  Really you need to be the one to stipulate time of bed not the child. My best friends kids tell he when they are and aren't going to be and that is not right at all.  I told her are you the parent then you tell them not them tell you.  Please don't let this happen to you.  Her kids are very rude and mean to her.   :angry7:   :cat:

Are you talking about a 3 year old child? I assume that is what you are referring to, and all I wanna know is why is a kid going to school at the tender age of 3?

@ Nisha~ Glad to be of some help. Congrats to you for taking care of your daughter on your own during these hard times we are having.  Its tough when there are 2 parents there :)  Good luck to you and your daughter this coming Wednesday on the First day of School.

I think it depends on what time she needs to wake up. Figure about 9 hours and I think you should be fine.

Depends on what time you have to get everyone up and going to get everywhere.  We found (after 4 boys)  7:30 was good for the little ones.  But we had a lot of am juggling.  Also gave a little give time later when they were older and stayed a little longer.

Well, you want your child to be well rested. Getting up in the morning and having breakfast is a challenge for some adults. However, if you work and have to get your child to daycare or school; he or she lose sleep, so it's best to get them in some kind of routine where there are going to bed at a rsspectable time to be well rested in the morning.
