Hi eveyone, I love the pics of the crochet projects that you have done. You are blessed with great talent. I would love to learn how to crochet. I know the basics and can do a single crochet, but thats where my crochet talent ends. I have a passion for knitting and have knitted numerous projects from hats to sweaters. I am currently working on a tank top for my Mom. It's getting colder now, so maybe I'll knit a matching cardigan. If you have any tips on how to learn crochet, or if you know of any great book, please let me know. I am currently on the lookout for a book that is easy to follow and will teach me how to crochet.

I love the baby blanket. would love to have the pattern for it.

Hello Lusie, Unfortunately Like I said before I don't use patterns :(. I actually got the idea for it from a pic I saw online maybe there was a pattern for it I don't remember I jsut remember I used the pic as a refrence and added my own Ideas. Srry If I can find it again I will let you know. Maybe u can copy the stitch from the pic like I did  :dontknow:

lol thats cool that is how I do a lot of my stuff also I actually hate following patterns lol

I am so happy to find fellow crocheters here at FC I crochet all kinds of thing sweaters, blankets, hot pads, afghans but my biggest problem is finishing I always seem to have two or three projects going at once.
I have a ton of patterns and at one time I belonged to a group of crocheters we met once a week and it was great fun we exchanged ideas and helpful hints and one of the ladies was an instructor at one of our local stores that sells yarn. We could all start our on crochet exchange??? Do I have an interested parties????

That would have been a neat idea but we are not able to communicate outside of these forums :( unless it was all images :) I guess that could work
Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could only do a little.NEED Help? Check out my Beginners Guide pinned in the Support forum :)

I've been attempting to teach myself how from the internet...it's slow going.  my hands/fingers don't work well in those motions (side effects from medication).  I do want to get a basic feel for it, though, as another way to constructively pass time when I get sick.  I did try knitting first...it needed just too much coordination than what I can produce right now.
there are gazillions of free patterns on the internet as well. hopefully I can actually put some of them to use within the next year!

I don't, but sometimes on PBS I see some women doing it and it looks like a really neat skill.
Eventually I'd like to learn.

I only know the very basics of crochet. I haven't been able to make anything but a long strip lol...but learning to crochet and knit is something I've always wanted to do. I guess I need to sign up for a class at the local hobby shop!

No, but my mom more than makes up for my lack of contribution in this department!

I wish! I know that sound crazy coming from a teenager, but I think crocheting would be really cool.  I'm not good at crafts though. I'd just like to try it to see if I'm any good.

That's not a crazy statement at all from a teenager! My mom taught me how to crochet when I was a young teen, and I have loved it ever since. I haven't been able to do much lately because I've been so busy with other things. If you can find someone to teach you how, or find a good website with instruction, you may just get hooked...no pun intended.  ;D
