Absolutely!  We are forever flawed, each of us.  We will always be human and flawed while we are on this earth.

Christians are only human but since they have the power of the Holy Spirit working in their lives they have the power to overcome sin.  They will still make mistakes, as they will NEVER be perfect here on earth.  I don't think the "I'm only human" excuse really is a valid excuse for a Christian to use to keep "glossing over" their repeated mistakes because it's "poor testimony". (Not saying anyone here has done that.)  There's too many Christians thinking they are all "Christ-like" already... they're all "smug" in their salvation, with their noses in the air and their heads in the clouds.  They are too good to actually spend any time with non-believers...but they have no problem finding time to "talk-down" to them or ridicule them.  (Actually, what is so funny about a non-believer anyway?  They could be here one minute and gone the next...do you really want to be the one making fun of them if that should God forbid happen?)   Christians need to see there are MANY people in the world--- not just them.  There's alot of Christians these days that need to come back to earth for awhile and see how many people they can take to heaven with them.  It wouldn't hurt Christians to be reminded...they might be the ONLY Bible that MANY will ever read.     I've had it, not with Christians on FC but in life as general...I don't know what's happened to so many of them,  I don't think it's right.

My Grandma use to say:  "we're just glorfied dirt".  Unfortunately we are expected to be perfect to those who want to scrutinize.

This is off subject, but did everyone get their sports bonus?  I made $2.25....woo hoo!!

I agree.  God gives us strength to overcome sin, but we will not be perfect in this life.  That is what is so amazing about God's love!  He loves us when we don't deserve it.

I emailed you back Annella.

There isn't a single person living and breathing on this planet that God doesn't love deeply and passionately. Every single one was created in His image, every single one has a story, and every single one is precious to Him. None of has a right to think we are better than somebody else. We have one life to make difference, Love God, Love Others, Love Serving.

Remember the shepherd who left the whole flock to go after the one lost? Jesus came for the sinner not the saints!  :peace:

Sorry,  Just got back on....what a day....BUSY!   More tonight!

I Don't think any Christian on this forum said they were better, smarter, anything better than anyone else Sherna.  I haven't seen any thread in that context.  We've been accused of it, but no one has by any means, said anything like that.

Yes, I know the story of the 99 and the 1 who went astray.  Jesus came for everyone....no separation.  We call ourselves Christians, but we are only saved by grace ourselves.  We certainly haven't obtained our goal yet.

No body here that I know of has shoved Christianity down anybody's throat.  The material is presented, and is either accepted or rejected.

Yes, God loves everyone more than we can ever imagine.  So much, he provided a way to be reconciled with Him.  I for one am deeply grateful for the all transforming power of that love.  Without it, I would be dead right now...I'm sure of it.

No they haven't. But it never hurts to be reminded and especially with such a beautiful song!  :)

Only God knows what everyone's intentions were/are.  I shouldn't have "jumped down" anyone's throat.  If I accused someone of being judgmental and they don't think they were/are, and they're sincere...then that's how it is.  Do I think an apology is necessary from anyone?  Certainly not to me.   If God tells someone to apologize to someone else then that's another matter.  (Am I saying I think there's a Christian that needs to apologize to someone else?  no, because I have no way of knowing what anyone's intentions were/are or how they affected anyone else.  That would be a personal matter/decision.) Lately, I have been struggling with several overly judgmental Christians here in my hometown and while their comments always "rolled off" before, I recently hit the "boiling point" with them when I took some of my un-believing friends to hear a guest speaker at a church and they were given the "ice cold" shoulder, sarcasm and "smirks" by some "overly judgmental christians" that oddly enough are supposed to be "friends".   It's not an easy thing to do to get non-believers to step a foot in church and then that behavior coming from long-time "Christians" was embarrasing.  Confronting them, explaining to them does no good so I went a little "nutz" on the forum when it seemed like I was seeing more of that kind of behavior.  If anyone feels I wrongly accused them, then I am truly sorry.  I totally agree with Shernajwine that it never hurts to be reminded.  To be on the receiving end of that kind of behavior from a group of people that un-believers assume is supposed to know better...hurts.  Just a reminder.  (Sorry for letting my hometown problems with Christians simmer to the point that I "exploded" on the FC Christians.)

Sheryl, it is completely devastating to me the kind of judgmental attitudes in some churches. I am so blessed to have found the church I am currently in. A couple of years ago an atheist group came in, wearing black t-shirts with some kind of anti-God slogan on it. They apparently had a "mission" to go to churches and secretly film the disdain and rejection they would receive from church goers. My church family is so amazing. They hug everyone that walks through that door. They hugged the atheists. They didn't treat them any differently. The pastor goes around during song service and introduces himself to visitors. He did the same with them, told them it was nice having them in service today...gave them hugs.

One of the atheists came back the next Sunday and said he had never seen people like this. He wanted to meet the pastor for lunch after service and my pastor agreed. I don't know what happened after that, but LOVE is what makes an impact on people. Sincere affection, not lip service and empty words.

I'm really GLAD you posted this.  I had a couple of phone calls/emails from a few of those "judmental" souls I've been having so much trouble with lately and they quote so many scriptures to defend themselves that I start questioning if I'm even right for feeling like I do.  Your church there is NOTHING like the ones I've been to (N-O-T-H-I-N-G!) and I'm shocked.  I've been to most all the churches in the area that are Bible-based.  Some like to mostly worship and give a 10 minute sermon which I don't like.  Some like to beat the pulpit and scream...which I really don't like.  Some are "cold".  That leaves just a few to go to (that aren't in the poor section of town) and they have their "cliques" that consist of those that give alot of money to the church.  One of them "christians" told me yesterday that I should go "back to the assemblies" because "they let you wear ANYTHING there" (and this was because I took a poor family to her church last month.  They did make an effort to look nice, they looked great to me. I didn't know God loves those in designer labels more.  ::))  I will probably check out the churches on the "poor side of town", at least I know they won't be so judgmental about "clothing".)  I was going to say you're so lucky to have a church like that but really...they all should be like that.

I have been to more churches than I can count and I have never been to one like this. I am blessed to have found it. You're right, ALL of them should be like that!
