I love 2 swim. Have been since I was 5. It is the best exercise b/c it works all muscles, burns more calories, and doesn't put undue stress on the joints.

I'm a "wasser-kind" as my mom would say... When I was growing up, my parents had a pool in the back yard, so they had me in lessons at a VERY young age (I don't think my mom enjoyed my infant lessons, though, esp. when they'd let go of the baby in the water. But the babies have a natural instinct not to breath in the water and to doggy-paddle, so in controlled environments its ok) They have pictures of me in the pool when I was a baby (actually its a picture of a big hat on a raft; my parents assure me that I'm under that sun-hat, kicking my little feet under water) When I was 7, my parents signed me up for competitive swimming, and I swam competitively all the way through college (actually, junior and senior year of college I moved to diving because by course-load was too much to handle while maintaining shape for swimming; with diving I could practice for only a couple hours each day, and because there were so few male divers, I'd usually place fairly well for team points). I also had dreams of swimming in the Olympics, but the "JO's" (junior olympics) were the closest I ever got, and I felt that was an accomplishment to just qualify.

I used to like swimming until I had to put up with swim coaches that thought they were good at coaching something that they couldn't even do.

Yes I love swimming, especially in the nude, on a full stomach too, I have it when I am out there in the water and get hungry, its like then I have to come out and get a sandwich or something, but I am all wet and dripping, I rather just be full, right after I eat, I go swim, its awesome!

Everybody loves swimming!  My husband and I are trying to save up for a pool for next year.  We even started a pool fund!
