It's not a good practice, but you never know it's kinda a 50 50 chance that you either end up with a weirdo meeting you or a decent person.

For example I once met a friend I met online in a forum for mothers even though I wasn't a mother I was attempting to help my mother through issues with my youngest sister.
My mother wasn't really into computers and didn't know how to work with them, so she would stand behind me and dictate what I would ask and respond to things.
I was 17 my sister was 2 at the time. I met a woman on there not in person but we would chat online and we became close.
I thought wow cool I found a really nice woman to talk to and she has wonderful advice for my mother.
My mother decided to give the person our number after 2 years of online chatting, it turns out it was a gay man posing as a woman.
 But he was very friendly and my mother met him in person and they have been best friends since.


Another example I met my husband online well technically I knew him before but didn't know at the time I met him on myspace.
But it turns out he was some guy I had a crush on when I was younger and lived two streets away from me. That worked out.

But it's not always wise to meet people online, I have heard horror stories and have seen a girl from my area get killed after meeting two boys online but this was 6 years ago.

You just have to be careful and use common sense.  Even when you meet people face to face, they can still tell you a whole bunch of lies or wrong information about themselves.

I met my husband on the internet.... been married nearly 4 years and we have one son.  not always a BAD idea

I was in his mustang cruising down the road,  thinking I had nabbed the hottest body builder in the world and I look down and see cherry lip gloss in the door. I asked him who's it was and he said it was his and he put some on and then handed it to me to put some on. I am staring stupidly at the stuff and put it on thinking.....is he for real?

More of these types of things happened until finally I realized I was just being stupid and admitted to myself he either had a girlfriend or was married. I was just in denial cuz he was soooooooo freakin hot, I didn't want it to be true lol.

Needless to say, I decided to stop internet dating!

That's pretty judgemental to say that. I personally know 3 people who met their husbands online and they are great guys. I think sometimes it's actually better because you get to know the person and can feel them out if they're serious about you or not. They would be wasting their time too ya' know. And you don't have to rush into sex like you would in person. Just use common sense and if it doesn't feel right, then it's not.

my son frist wife left him with 5 kids to take care of them he went to lad church web sit for pople that are looking for some one to love and found the best person for him their so u can to just go their and see what u can find !

Some people find the right guy on the internet.. but I really think it's a bad idea to go looking for one on the internet.
Also, long distance relationships are crappy. Unless you already care about the person and then they move don't bother with a long distance relationship.
