Halloween YEAH!!
« on: October 01, 2010, 10:54:38 am »
Halloween is coming Yeah its my favorite holiday..Do you do anything special for it??

Me and my kids make suckers,candy, decorations..Of course we dress up,trick or treat and we also have a Halloween party every year..

Here is one of the things we do..

Nothing is more tantalizing than a mud pie -- except maybe one with worms.

Ingredients

        * 16 Oreo cookies or chocolate graham crackers
        * 4 tbsp. butter, melted
        * 1 pint ice cream

        * 5 to 10 gummy worms
        * 1 cup fudge sauce
        * Whipped cream, optional

X

Instructions

       1.

          Put cookies in a plastic bag and crush with a rolling pin. Empty into a bowl and stir in the melted butter. Press the mixture into a 9 inch pie plate to form a shell and freeze for 20 minutes.
       2.

          Meanwhile, soften the ice cream slightly. Drop in a few gummy worms (that's the Halloween part) and spoon into the pie shell. Top with a thick layer of fudge sauce and freeze for at least 1 hour before serving with optional whipped cream. Makes 8 servings.

This is mine and my husband anniversary.  We had a halloween wedding, dressed up and all, trick or treaters coming up during the whole thing, a coffin cake, it was awesome.  Halloween is my FAV and now each year we celebrate with a different themed party each year, one year pirates, one year mid evil times and so forth  ;D

me make a simliar dessert but we use chocolate pudding (so that it is more stable and won't melt all over the table) and we sprinkle more cookie crumbs on top to look like dirt.

I always watch The Nightmare Before Christmas. I guess maybe it falls more into a Christmas movie (I watch it then too) but it does take place in Halloween Town.

That oreo thing sounds really good. I don't think I've had that since I was 10.

I will definitely be going trick-or-treating with my kids.  They want to dress up as a ghost and fairy. I love haunted houses and am organizing my daughter's school haunted house for the 2nd year in a row.  Also my favorite holiday!

We make a similar cake. It looks like a pan of kitty litter and it cracks people up at Halloween parties.

This is a picture of the one we made last year.
