I am a new mother and it is very interesting.  I love watching him learn and grow every day but there are days where it is stressful on our relationship, where we are completely exhausted but it is a learning process for everyone.

It is so very sad that a person can feel that way about their own children...So sad...Being a parent is wonderful....It is a gift!  Its something that should be treasured!

I have two girls, and I love being a mom.
I think (referring to an above post) you have to build a very strong foundation with your children, let them know that you are their for them.
IN NO WAY do I think my kids are in any way shape or form an investment.

Well, I will say one thing. This post answers a question I have had almost every time I see anything from you - why you come across as so PO'd and angry most of the time. That's a hell of an attitude to have and a lousy way to be feeling about your kids. I hope THEY don't know how you actually look at them and know your regrets 43 years later, but I have a gut feeling they do. That is just sad. Who told you that you had to bear 4 kids? :(

I have 3 children and love them with all my heart.  I wouldn't trade them for any other life.  I don't see how a mother can regret having children.  What a horrible way to treat your children.  My heart goes out to them.

Too Bad you feel as you do, children are wonderful as I have raised 2 girls and now am enjoying my 3 grandsons this is the best time. Maybe you should visit them and get to know them better. Just a sidenote, I have an Uncle who just turned 92 and he has 9 children, 26 grandchildren and 5 and 1 on the way great grand children. What a joy it was as his entire family came together to celebrate his birthday celebration there was a lot of LOVE in that room Maybe you are missing out give it another try reach out to your children and grandchildren who knows what might happen You may come to realize what a blessing you are missing out on. :D  :peace:

The worst investment in life is children......Are you kidding me? You wouldn't be here if your parents had decided not to have children. I love my children. I have a 9 year old girl, a 3 year old boy, a 18 month old girl, and one on the way in March. If I wasn't happy with being a parent, I probably wouldn't have had any more after the first. I would be left so unfulfilled without children. I enjoy saving money for college for them and waiting to see what they are going to become in life. If they don't all end up doing well in life, I still would not regret having them. I may probably regret some decisions I made, but I would still be very happy they are alive and part of my life.

My grandparents on my dad's side had 17 children and my grandparents on my mom's side had 9 children. There are so many grandchildren and great-grandchildren that it would take me awhile to count them all. Both of my grandmothers died within the past 5 years and just seeing everyone gather around made me realize what an effect 2 people can have. They were sad events, but seeing all those people come together made their lives complete. They lived for their families and I believe they died happy and fulfilled.

The best thing I have ever done, or ever will do (if I am not lucky enough to have another), is have my child.  She is the most amazing person I have ever met, and although there are times I want to pull my hair out, I consider myself one of the luckiest people alive just by knowing her.  I would trade nothing for waking up to her offering me a bite of her grapes, a drink of her milk, her crawling in bed with me, cuddling me and giving me little kisses (her daddy gets up with her in the morning half the time).  I am amazed watching her grow through the days and months, and now years since she just turned two, the way her language develops, her impish personality, and her loving heart (she shares better than any two year old I've seen).  I feel sorry for anyone who doesn't feel somewhat the same about their kids.  :sad1:
