Pitbull Dogs
« on: October 23, 2010, 08:44:42 pm »
:o OK......I have nothing against dogs or any animals. But i do see a lot on the news something about pit bulls attacks? Now i have to start off by saying that it is always the owners responsibilities and fault. Now how can you not see that with any type of aggressive animal should be secure at all times? I understand that certain things happen that are out of your control. But too much people are getting hurt.

i agree but what is also sad is the fact that not only are humans getting hurt, but the dogs that are abused by humans to make them agressive
which started this in the first place. I have a pittbul and shes about to be 2yrs and shes the sweetest dog ever. ;)

Today it's pit bulls, tomorrow it could be the poodle. In the past, it was the chow, doberman, german shepherd.... Humans are the main cause of why the pit bull is targeted. How is it that in the past, pit bulls were used in children shows like the little rascals or used in war ad's in the 1940's to promote the good fight. Pit bulls are not my favorite breed but they are not born mean they are trained to be mean. They're kind of cute like teddy bears. I like to watch the Pit Boss on Animal channel. Maybe you should watch the show; it'll help you clear up any negative issues from the breed. All I can say, is give them a chance.

Take a trip to the dog pound  all you see is pit bulls   dogs any dogs if treated well are not agressive   train them to be agressive and they will be. California had a proplem in thier shelters getting chihuahuas because Paris Hilton was always seen with hers  people would buy the chihuahuas and then see they have to take care of them and they didnt want to so off to the shelters they went  very irresponsible

Hi Everyone!

1st of all thanks for the comments and sharing the more personal in sight about animals and pets! Many of you all are right! It all comes down to people. I have had pets of my own or know someone with all different kind of breeds of dogs! I have had my share of dog attacks more than several times. I dont blame dogs or feel that they are the main problems.  :dog: :) THANKS AGAIN!

Yes, aggressive dogs should be secured.

I think that dogs belong on a leash when in public. Pitbull or not. I have friends that have Pitbulls and they are very smart and very sweet, but still belong on a leash. I once got chased by an aggressive pitbull. I feared for my life. It was unleashed and the people weren't even home. When I called animal control, they only got a warning and then the people threatened me. They were bad dog owners,so no wonder their dog was aggressive.

It is a shame the rap that Pit Bulls get. There are so many people that train these dogs to be aggressive and mean. Like the fighting Pits. I own two and they are great dogs. Remember any dog will turn on a person if provoked.

I AM A LOVER OF ALL ANIMALS AND PITBULLS HAVE BEEN GETTING A BAD RAP! THERE ARE GOOD AND BAD DOGS IN ALL BREEDS!! AN ANIMAL BEHAVIOR IS DEFINTELY DEPENDED UPON THE OWNER AND HOW THE ANIMAL HAS BEEN TREATED!

I have a pure bred pit bull and he is really gentle. Very hiper thou. He needs a lot of exercise because keeping him in a pen doesnt work for him unless I want to wake up to him barking at night., He was food aggressive with other dogs when we first got him which is the main reason he sleeps outside. I couldnt  let him go to the pound, we got him from a friend at 8 months old. It is in the back of my mind that he could hurt someone because we dont know what happened when he was a apuppy i would feel alot better about the situation if we were able to have him from a 6 weeks old.

you guys must understand the reason pit bulls are "aggressive". if you train a dog to fight or be aggressive it will be. pit bulls are the same as any dog. it's just that the wrong people get a hold of them too often.
