I worked for several hours during Black Friday and at one time the influx of people was so great I couldn't keep my head on straight.  With being laid off I don't have the money to shop and I see all these people spending so much money on things and it just makes me cringe.  I don't want to be thought of as a cheapskate but I just don't and never have spent a lot of money on Christmas.  I try to make most of my gifts.  Last night I made peppermint candies using candy canes, that are crushed, and white chocolate.

   It means a lot when someone takes the time to make something for someone else.  I used to do that more than I do now.

I'm 72 years old, currently unemployed and plan to keep it that way. I'm hardly frugal, I love spending money and having fun, so that's why I spend time making money on the computer each day and pump up my fun money fund.

I'm not planning on going back to school, but who knows when I might change my mind? I like to take my wife traveling around North America and we make several trips a year. This year we had a week on a houseboat in Key Largo, a week at the beach, a week in North Carolina and we already have reservations for a week at Yellowstone next summer. That's why I keep clicking.

I also sing in Barbershop Quartets and play a little bluegrass guitar with my boys.

I took a part time job working a seasonal kiosk for the holidays.  Most of my co-workers are in their twenties and they amaze me with the amount of talking about nothing they do!  Whining, complaining about things that are in their own control.  Their incessant blah blah blah is getting on my last nerve.  Oh and all the backstabbing.  Each one of them have told me about the other one.  It's an never ending vicious cycle.  I wish I could find a job where I could work alone!

    Yay!  I finally got "My Bookmarks" (in the forum) back today! They disappeared when I opted-in on the contest yesterday. FC Support figured it out - a big thanks to them!!  I'm lost without my bookmarks!   Hope everyone is having a great day!

We took the grand-daughter to see Tangled last night and I think I enjoyed it as much as she did and believe me she was spell bound.  I also think the Yogi movie that is coming out is one that I will go see.  I laughed just watching the previews.

Im 29 yrs. old, a mother of 2 beautiful boys and currently unemplyed. Just most of people here i spend most of my time on the computer too playing games and joining in sites like this. Most of course taking care of my boys. It is a tough times of our economy right now and i could wish for is a better tommorow. Abettere future for my family someday.

Everyone is vacationing in North Carolina! I guess I am really lucky to live here!

I'm a 28 year-old wife of a U.S. Marine. I choose to work from home so I can keep the house neat and have meals ready for him. We'll be celebrating our first wedding anniversary on December 2. We don't have any kids as of yet. We decided to wait until after he's done with the Marine Corps. We plan on moving back to Nebraska (or somewhere close by) so we can be closer to our families.

I've went to college for Psychology, Mass Media, and Legal Studies--none of which held my attention. I'm sure I'll go back someday. It's never too late.

It seems like my hobbies have faded away as I've gotten older. I do love to write short stories and poetry, play tennis, sing, and visit educational sites like museums.

You know if you don't mind making the trip to Atlanta you might enjoy the Dali Exhibit at The High Museum.  It is there until August!

Wow, Golotomer, sounds like you could be me.  I am now at home after working for 35 years (last job was 25) and now I find that I am going to have to go back to work soon.  I am thinking of medical billig but need to find out how to get certified, etc.

I also garden, crochet, quilt, eat, eat, look for ways to make a few bucks from home.  I am trying to sell the rugs I make but haven;t exposed myself too much.  Never did anything like that before.  I'll be back later....have to go get dinner going.

I am 60 and I work as a consultant for small businesses and non profits.  I write proposals, grants and do some program development.  I am lucky to be able to do all this from home.  Sometimes the jobs get scarce, particularly in the last few years due to the economy, but I am able to keep my head above water.  Anybody need a grant written?   I enjoy reading and cooking and have been doing some study on religions and health.  It keeps me busy.
