:cat:  I'm married, have 3 grown children, and 2 precious small granddaughters.  I teach Elementary Music part-time.  Because of my asthma issue and tests out-of-town, I can't work full-time right now.  I am very thankful for my job.
We have 3 cats and 1 dog (1 cat is mine - her picture is the one you see.)  I play the guitar, a little piano, sing (although on temporary break until new meds kick in), cross-stitch, read, and try to earn a little extra by joining sites like FC (super site!)  My hubby and I just love being Nana and Papa!!
I like your stuffed animals/yogurt episode! :)

I am 37 years old, single and just enjoying life as it comes.  I am also in school pursing a double major. cant wait to finish.  Life for me has been very unique.  Challenges everyday but the good part about it is that I always get past those challenges and grew stronger.  I am looking forward to many amazing things to come my way in the upcoming years.
Hi and welcome!  You are certainly one busy lady with a double major!  When should you finish?  What are your majors?  I agree about challenges making us stronger - they have to when we hang tight and push through them.  Hope to chat some more!  :)

Hi Kim,

Your exhaustion - could it be related to the Fibro?  I wanted to let you know (unless I already did - sorry if I'm repeating myself, lol) that Veronica is going for bloodwork tomorrow to test for Fibro.  Apparently many symptoms she's having lately, and has had off and on and getting worse, are related to Fibro.  Please pray for her - she's still so young for more pain on her like this.  Thank you.

Only a couple of more weeks until Spring Break.  Hang in there, girl!  I'm sure your brain is tired, too.  You've had a lot going on in your life from different things - no wonder you are exhausted.

I babysat again today - the only day this week.  His mom says he's saying "Go see Juju - pways bwocks and choo choo twain wif me."  He's adorable and busy!!  Yep, I get down on the floor with him - he loves the blocks and making trains, towers, and houses, lol.

Take it easy, okay?  Talk to you tomorrow!

~ Julie ~  {{Hugs}}

Julie,

I will take some pictures of the before and after.

I went to the flea market but didn't buy anything.  They did have a lot of vendors there selling produce and plants pretty cheap so I'll have to go back there again.

I fell to sleep on the couch around 8 and overslept until 5:30 this morning.   I don't know what's wrong with me.  I'm just exhausted all the time.  I really need the spring break!

Later.

Kim

Hi Kim,

Sorry your son wasn't able to come.  You and Bob got a lot done - that's neat!  You should take some before (just planted) pictures and some after pictures (blooming.)  It's kind of sad it all costs so much to do it.

Your comments about grooming your dog remind me recently of Veronica having the same idea with her dog.  To save money, she bought some kind of cutting kit to clip her dog's fur.  Lol, poor thing looked like she had a layered *bleep* lool!  But, hey, it was a lot cheaper than taking her in, and Fluff is now cooler!

Hope you can get some homework done.  Have a nice Monday!

Julie
Oh, and still no word about the girls.

I'm as busy as ever with my 6 kids and home schooling. I decided to start blogging more heavily outside FC. I opened up 6 new blogs with 6 things I am interested in because I have focused so much of my energy on my family and I wanted to express myself in 6 areas I am interested in.

My blogs, just incase you were wondering what I'm interested in are: Home schooling in the burbs, there are chickens in my back yard, eating healthy and loving it, becky's work at home mom blog, politics & religion, and randomly creative corner (it's my misc blog in case I find more things I'm interested in). I was super cheap when I bought my domains. I do hope some people will read them, but I figure that anything with "info" at the end instead of "com" won't rank well on google.

I've also learned how to make youtube videos that don't take hours upon hours to upload, but still be interesting and fun to make.

It's a cheap outlet. I don't have to leave home or buy thousands of dollars of craft supplies to express myself.

Anyway, that's what I've been up to since I last contributed to this thread.

You can find me on Youtube!

Julie,

Hoping for the best for Veronica.  Keep me posted on their findings.

I'm sure some of what I experience is related to the fibro but I guess I try to live in a state of denial.  Some days I just concede to old age, some days I blame the fibro and others I think are because I really am burning the candle at both ends.

I'm glad you have a fun day playing bwoks with your buddy.  Having him around probably keeps your mind off your other problems for at least a short whle.

My daughter bought a puppy the other day.  She got it to help her son transition his loneliness when his older sister leaves for college.  I posted a picture on fb this morning.  They haven't named him yet but I'll keep you posted.  He cried the entire time my daughter was trying to take a shower yesterday and was the only one at home with him.  He wants to be in your lap constantly.  My kind of dog.  I know from past experiences that if a dog doesn't work out for them it usually ends up at my house.  My mind is saying no no no but my lap is saying yes yes yes.

Hi Kim,

Veronica had her labwork done this morning.  I'll let you know what they find out.

The puppy is adorable!!!  You're so cute!  No, no, no, but lap says yes, yes, yes!!!  He looks so sweet!

Maybe your exhaustion is just a combination of all you mentioned - it would definitely make sense.  I hope you can get some honest to goodness rest during your break.

I have to sub today on Roddy's bus.  His monitor is still out from her surgery.  Extra money, so that's good.

Fires have started up down here already.  There's a couple near our area and several just across the FL/GA line, too.  Smoke in the air is becoming a regular - too soon for me and a little too strong.  Good thing they are all wildfires - except for the pine trees that are others' livelihood - I feel bad for them, especially after losing so much last summer.

Hope you are having a nice day and evening,

~ Julie ~

I am 71 years old and retired 9 years ago but after a year at home I got a job at Wal mart as a people greeter.  I needed the extra money to live on and now have money to go on a few trips.  My cousin and I went to Panama City, Fla year before last but we did not go anywhere last year.  I had knee replacement this past January and did very well.  Now I can walk alot better and am able to go on another trip when I get enough time off from work.  I have 3 children, 7 grandchildren and 13 great grand Children.  I am in good health and I than God for that and hope to take a trip this summer this year if I do not have to go by myself.  May God bless each of you and keep you safe.

Hi, ejholt, I will be 70 in August, so we have something in common.  I also retired several years ago.  I have not had knee replacement, but I may have to in the future.  I'm so glad you're doing better, though.  I was wondering something, however; I thought I heard that Walmart had let go their greeters, in some places, anyway.  Is that true?

God bless you, too.

Welcome!  I'm glad you are getting to enjoy your retirement and getting to travel some.  Even if you do have to work a part time job it puts a little change in your pocket and keeps you active.

I hope you stop by again to chat.

Kim, Thank you so much for the information about transcribing.  I will check into it and let you know.

Hope you guys have a great week.  It is much warmer here in Virginia today.  :)

So far I've submitted almost 1700 names.  I try to do a couple of pages a day.  It's really interesting seeing all the different names and where they came from.  I've been working on New Hampshire and Florida.  NH had a lot of French Canadians and even in 1940 you can see that FL was becoming a retirement community.  Hardly anyone was native Floridians.

Let me know if you get started on the project.  We can compare notes.

Wow on the fires Julie.  I know the wind has been horrific the last few days.  I know when Bob came home from Florida last month he said he could smell the fires burning from the interstate.

I hope I get some rest during break too but there are little things I want to get done that require movement...cleaning closets, yard work, yard sales!   My mind will feel more rested if I can catch up around here some.

I only have about 20 more hours of interning to finish.  Should be done April 30 or May 1st.

Don't you just love all the gardening pictures and ideas we've been posting on FB?  I can wait to find some old boots and shoes to plant in and we do have an old dresser in the carport I want Bob to pull out so I can plant in.  Right now Jess's outdoor swingset, slide and lawn chairs are in the way but she is supposed to be getting them this weekend.

I have seedum growing wild all over the back yard and I want to grab a bunch of it, some of the vinca and some more hens and chicks to plant in the dresser.  What else can you think of that would be a perrennial and easy to care for?  Any ideas appreciated!

Off to transcribe.

Kim

P.S. Try not to overdo it subbing today.  Keep me posted on Veronica.

Kim,

Here is a site that lists 10 easy to care for perennials.  There are a few I wouldn't mind trying.
http://gardening.about.com/od/perennials/tp/Low-Maintenance-Plants.htm  There were some more cute ideas on FB today - I shared any that came my way.  The Crocs idea one is really cute and pretty.

This nasty headcold has taken over and is going down in my chest - I feel horrible - I hate this on top of everything else.

I'm glad your intern hours are dwindling down - that's got to be an almost relief!

There was one fire, here, that started a year ago, the Honey Prairie Wildfire, that has finally, after a year, been put out!  No homes burned and no one seriously injured.  The fire burned around 483 square miles.  I'm glad that one is out now!  I shared it on FB, from hubby, who wrote about it.

I know what you mean about feeling better about things if the house is cleaner - I agree totally, too.

Keep up the transcribing - sounds like you are doing well!

Julie
