It's cold and rainy tonight here in Central Virginia.  They are having a Nor'easter farther north from here.  I guess we're lucky it's no worse here than that.

Take care, everyone.

Juanita

Hi Juanita,

We had all of the rain and storms all yesterday and half day today.  Then the winds set in - they're calmer now.  It did usher a cool front in.  So instead of the 60s at night and 80s in the day, we have a few days of 40s at night and 60s in the day!  I love it!!
Hopefully things didn't get too rough for VA.  Hope you are doing well.  Have a nice Monday!

Julie  :)

Julie,

Yes, you get to designate what area you are willing to work in and they are usually close to the school or between where you live and the school.

I didn't get much studying done.  As you might be aware from my FB page, Bob rescued three kittens.  We think maybe 2-3 weeks old.

They were calling for 4-8 inches of snow today and I was kind of hoping I'd wake up to a cancelled school but so far no snow.  Unless it hits suddenly within the next few hours it looks like I'll have to go take a test I haven't had sufficient time to study for.  The kittens are sleeping so I'm going to hop off her now and study.

Kim

Hi Kim,

I'm glad you got a good night's sleep.  Good luck on your test.  Hope everything goes well for you tomorrow.

I would be anxious, too, not knowing where I would be sent next.  Do they try to keep it close by you or the school?  I hope it's something you will enjoy doing.  Sleep tight!  :)

Julie  :)

Kim,

That's so sweet that Bob rescued those kittens and they are there with you.  Are you going to keep them?  I'm glad he found and rescued them.

All of that snow forecast and did it ever come the rest of the day?  It was quite chilly here today, along with a nor'easter.  Low 60s.  And tonight's supposed to hit the upper 30s!!  Just for a couple of days, then warming right back up again.

I'm glad your interning is near you and/or the school.  That works better, especially with gas.

I have to go out of town tomorrow for my asthma shots and another dr. appt.  So I'll be back in the later afternoon.  I cancelled my heart dr. appt. and my physical therapy appt. for tomorrow.  One, I don't have copays right now.  Two, my dr. was supposed to send me to those drs. up here closer to me, but kept me under their "umbrella."  I can't afford, gas wise, to travel down once a week for pt, and for whatever else would maybe go on with the heart dr.  So, she and I will discuss it tomorrow.

Hope you did okay on that test.  Hope you slept well!

Julie  ;)

Julie,

I really think I flubbed the test but won't know until Wednesday.  I didn't get much time to study and this test seemed really difficult.  Even our whiz kid only got an 88 on the test (my test wasn't corrected yet).

We never did get a bit of snow yesterday.  My one friend, who lives east of me, got 2 inches out of the 8 that was forecast.  It did rain but it was 40 degrees.

I don't know that we'll keep all three kitties.  I wouldn't mind really but they would be yet another expense because I would want them all neutered/spayed.  I'm not sure what sex they are yet...it's a little too soon to tell.

It will be hard to give them up though.  Just in the two days we've had them I've fallen love with certain things about their personalities and looks.  One is all black and looks like a bat.  It is the runt.  One is black and white with a black chin and a star on it's back.  The other is black and white too but only has the stub of a tail like its mother, who is a Manx.  The other two have normal cat tails.

Good luck with all of your travels and Doctor's appointments tomorrow.  I know it's the pits having to spend the entire day taking care of doctor type business.  Hopefully they will be able to help you feel better though.

TTYL,

Kim

Hi Kim,

My cold has ended up being a sinus infection, so I'm on an antibiotic for that.  Hopefully that will help.  I'm feeling puny from my shots tonight, but I'm used to that now and just work around it.  I'm pretty tired, but that's normal, too.

I know what you mean about the kittens.  I'd fall in love with them, too.  My kitty, Gracie, is the runt of her siblings and the only one that came out gray/white "tuxedo" cat.  The others were tabby marked, orange, black.  She and I connected, lol.  That's neat how yours are all different!

Maybe your test will come out better than you think or at least as well as the "whiz" kid!

Our cool, sunny, total blue sky, weather is still with us today.  It's going a little higher tomorrow but still cooler than the last few weeks, so I'm enjoying it while I can.

Hope you have a good day at school.  Hugs to you!

Julie,

Sorry you are dealing with the spring cold. They seem the worst for some reason.  Lots of sinus infections and allergies going on right now.

I sort of know what to expect when you get your shots too.  You always seem to suffer for a few days afterwards.

It's still cool here too.   I think our highs are in the 50's for the weekend.

The kittens are in a little routine.  They know what to expect from a feeding and we wear them out for an hour or so at night letting them walk around in the living room so they sleep all night.  There is really no purpose to the walks they take yet.  They just try to follow anyone that is in the room and try to crawl up your pant legs.  Indy is so happy having a purpose.  She got mean with Sunshine last night though because Shine was walking through the room and Indy considered that a threat to her babies.

I'm going to try to take them to visit my son this weekend.  I want him to see them while they are still so little.  He has never seen little newborn kittens although he owns a couple of cats.

I'm hoping for the best on that test too.  I'm just beyond really caring right now.  I just want this semester to end and move on.  Next semester I only have three classes, coding, customer service and career development.  I could be wrong but they don't sound threatening in any way.

Later gator, take care.

Kim

Hi Kim,

I love newborn kittens.  They are just so precious and clingy.  I hope your son does get to see them.

Those 3 classes don't sound threatening either.  Those are what you need to close out with the schooling - so you aren't so deep into studies when you are already worn out.

I had to watch my little fella today and felt so cruddy from the shots and the infection.  He's not a problem at all - just a normal busy 2 year old, lol.  But it just so happened he didn't get his morning/noon nap, so when they got here, he was ready to go "night-night."  He slept the whole time and his mom had only the one bus route instead of the double, so it was a short and quiet afternoon.  She said she would probably have him hold off on his nap tomorrow, too.  Friday should be fine, though, because I usually feel more normal on the 3rd day after my shots.

Well, our cool weather is now gone again.  It's going back up in the lower 80s tomorrow.  It was wonderful while it lasted.  *sigh*

Have a great Thursday.  Give those kittens a little hug from me!!

Julie,

I know you enjoy playing with the little guy but it's okay that he chose to nap the whole time since you weren't feeling well.  You both needed the rest.

I wish I could some how video the little faces when I am feeding them.  They each have their own unique method of eating and the noises they make while they are nursing.

I think yesterday I saw what was the first "playful" type of tap from one kitten to another. This one seems to be a little more advanced than the other two when learning new things.  He first sat on his hunches the day before yesterday while the other two haven't yet.  His walking has a little more purpose to it too and he will sit and stare intently at things while the other two are still wandering around aimlessly and don't seem to make eye contact.

I'm really picturing three (four with Nala) cats wandering around on the back deck and breezeway in the coming years.  I just don't think I'll be able to part with them.  Remind me of that statement when I'm crawling the walls because they are climbing the curtains in a few weeks.

Kim,

I can remind you, lol, but it wouldn't do any good.  You would be loving them no matter what, lol!  That is interesting about the one being the mature one.  He sounds like he's going to be very busy checking out everything and keeping his siblings in line, too, lol.  I imagine they are so sweet when they are eating and sleeping still.  Kittens have a way of grabbing our hearts.

Little fella came today and was active.  I was still kind of puny, and still feeling yuck with the sinus issue, face hurting and all, and my disc issue had my neck, shoulder, and back with higher pain levels today.  I still got down on the floor though, to play blocks, and look at his toys he brought over.  He's speaking more words now, and it's just adorable listening to his pronunciation of words.  After awhile, I set him at the girls' little Disney table and chair, with his snack and drink, and then let him play by himself so I could sit back and rest my hurtin' body.  Tomorrow should be more up to par with the puniness gone - yay!

Can you believe our temps are going into the lower 90s this weekend?  Yuck!  They'll go back down in the mid to lower 80s as the week goes.  Too warm too soon for me!!

Only about a week left of school before break, right?  I know you are more than ready!  Yay!  Tomorrow is Friday!!

"See" you tomorrow!!!

Julie,

It sounds like you are rebounding a bit faster this time than last...perhaps the shots are starting to kick in????

I can't believe your temps are that high already.  We are still fairly cold.  I don't like it when it's too hot but then again I'm ready for spring days and enough sun to make the garden sprout and we're not there yet either.  There just doesn't seem to be a paradise....

Bob is going to try to video the kittens feeding tonight.  I'll lay them on a light colored pillow so we can get a good close look at their faces.  I want to record the sounds they make too so I can look back on how sweet they were when they start getting crazy here.

I was a little concerned last night because I wasn't seeing any evidence that their bowels were moving.  However, as I walked through the living room the evidence squished right up between my third and fourth toe.  They are doing just fine!

Grin...thanks for making me almost spit my coffee on to my screen this morning.  You nut!

Kim,

Glad I made you grin, lol!!  I guess the little squishing between the toes is one example of you loving them no matter what, right?  Ha ha!!  I would have been like you, though, going "ewww"  when stepping down in it.  That will make a nice video with what you are speaking of doing.  What a sweet keepsake.

No puny today, thank goodness!  With this sinus infection, the face pain is better, but when I cough I get so lightheaded I feel like I'm going to faint and have to sit quick.  The nebulizer hopefully will help with this.

Little fella was very busy today, lol.  He was in a mood, too!  He told me "No" a few times - testing the waters.  We had us a little friendly chat, eye to eye, about it.  He's so used to coming here, now, that he's comfortable enough to try me!

Any plans for your weekend?  I was supposed to judge at a music competition tomorrow but was given a "not too keen of an idea" from the dr. this week with what's going on.  I'll miss that - it's only twice a year and I've had to miss both.  :(  Next year, I had better be well!!!!

Have a nice evening and enjoy your weekend with Bob and all of your precious "children."

Julie,

As you probably know from my FB posts we lost a kitten this morning.  My heart is breaking.  It wasn't doing too well last night.  I took it to the bedroom with me and held it and took an hour nap.  It laid on me and purred.  I put it on the floor later with the other two and while they were wandering aimlessly around the living room this one just sat and watched the activity.

They slept the night and around 6:30 Bob got up.  Shortly after I heard them crying but when I went to get them that kitten was lying on its side and barely breathing.  Bob and I both held it, prayed and tried to get it to stir but its eyes were alreday glazing over.  At least we got to hold and pet it to sleep before it was gone.

I'm not sure what went wrong.  Perhaps it didn't digest its food and evacuate, maybe it got food in its lungs????  I don't know anything other than we have done the best we knew how to do.  I'm going to pay more attention to getting them to move their bowels in hopes that we can pull the other two through.  This is hard.
