Wrapping is more fun for the recipient to open...So I try to wrap. Unless I'm lazy or in a rush.

In the past I always carefully wrapped all my gifts, but a couple of years ago I started gift bagging using colorful paper and cute bags.  This is much easier and faster.

I give a lot of presents in our family and have spent years wrapping gifts.  It takes a long time.  Then I started using a few gift bags.  What a time saver.  It cost a bit more at first, but I just have to replace the tissue paper.  I get the gift bags back and they even have their name tags on them.  I use the same bags year to year.
I used both depend on what my presents is.  Usually I use wrap paper because it's nice and cheaper than gift bag.  It's true that you save a lot of time using gift bags but you buy for more than 10 people in a family.. plus friends... I't will cost you more than your pay check. Just me I'm been there :)

I really don't like to wrap too well and would prefer to use gift bags.  I try to buy them after Christmas at a deep discount and then reuse all that I can get my hands on for the following year.  I know it's probably more economical to use the old fashioned wrap though.  I haven't done a study....hmmm...I wonder.

I use gift boxes. Try to save some trees and I can always re-use those boxes.

We use both, It is nice to give the personal touch of wrapping, but sometimes the present is just to akward and it is just more convenient to use a cute bag

It's either one or the other for me depending on the size and/or the item.  If it is a large gift then it is obvious that I would wrap the present.  If it is several small items, couple of tops or something like that, gift bags and colorful tissue paper works for me.

you have to use wrapping paper that makes it easier to make them work for their gift.  i love using the wide tape on one gift for each of the grandchildren to make them work for their goodie.  it's just so much fun to watch their exasperation until they get into it.

I like to do both because sticking to one method can become pretty tiresome.
