do you keep the gifts you really don't like

sometimes i return them.  i just don't like returning things shortly after the holidays because of the long lines so i've kept gifts that i haven't used then eventually give them away.

Here is the scoop.  If you are not going to use them, then return it and at least get a store credit to where you can buy something you really want.

I don't feel guilty about it.  My MIL is the worst at this.  She always gives out a bunch of crap.  But I don't say anything.  I just take it to goodwill so that maybe someone else can find a use for it.

No, I will return it to the store.  I try to let the person know that a gift card or money is better for me.  Sometimes they do not listen, so I will return it.

If I don't like gifts I receive, I will most likely pass them on to others or give them to Goodwill or the Salvation Army so some one else can can get use out of them.

It depends. Will it come back to haunt me if I give it away? Like literally, is it some sort of Egyptian artifact that can bring a curse upon me and my family if I give it away? Like I said, depends...

my sister usually keeps all the trash gifts and uses them as gifts for non-priority people

No, I re-gift, return, trade w/my sister or donate.  No point in keeping something around that I will never use.

i usually keep the gift because i've never gotten a gift that i hated. and even if i did i think i would just let it grow on me because it brings back memories of the person who gave it to me. isn't that what presents should be about?
