I never text and drive.  I don't even talk on the phone while driving - I don't have a hands free.  I even go so far as to turn my phone off while I drive.  I prefer life to texting.

I can do multiple tasks at the same time.  But cannot text while driving because it take more of your thinking.

Occassionally i will text while stopped at a light, but not while driving. I dont want to kill myself or others! What do you guys think about laws on this topic?

i used to think people were so stupid for it but once i got a phone with text capability i quickly found myself thinking oh goody a text " i'll just see who it is, what if its important" but now i've started turning my phone off and not touching it while in the car

I never text while I'm driving. No message is important enough to risk an accident.

Ok I don't get this.  I have all I can do to text when I am setting in the house with noone around.  I would never try to do it when I was driving.  It requires to much work.  I figure that if the message is that important they would call me not text and if I am driving somewhere I can always check it in a couple of minutes when I get where I am going.  If it is an emergancy and they call they will leave a messege.  It will not do me any good to get into an accident then I will have more than one problem to deal with.  So why make more work for yourself or problems.  Texting, talking, or reading when driving is a problem so why do it?  I like life to much

I have answered e-mails at red lights, but not anymore because it's just too uncomfortable to do that and requires so much concentration. Shame on me. A teenager here was texting and caused an accident that killed a married couple, and the teenager lost her left arm. So sad.

Not me. I don't text at all, but I make and answer calls while I'm driving. I confess. ;-)))

i dont do it , i just text at the light if someone wants to take it personal that i dont reply fast when im drving then oh well lol

I'm glad to see that all of you value your lives and the lives of others more than answering that incoming text while driving! I would never text while driving myself, or even make a phone call (unless it was an emergency), but it seems like I see so many people texting while driving anymore - even on the highway! Definitely not looking forward to learning how to drive...

I am going to be honest.  I used to text while driving, but that was over 14 years ago when I first started driving.  Now that I am older (and wiser    I do not text while driving.  I don't even like to make phone calls while driving.  I do answer my phone though while I am driving.  It is scary.  I see people texting while driving and they are swerving all over the road.  I try to change lanes and get away from people like that.  That is just an accident waiting to happen.

I'll occasionally text while stuck at a red light, but that's only if I am replying to someone's text.

I have to be honest, I'm guilty of texting and driving at the same time. I know that this is against the law in some states, but it has become addictive and I try hard to wait to respond to a text message or send a message when I reach my destination but  this is not always the case!
