Worst gift ever?

What is the worst gift you ever received for any holiday? I once received a tapestry cat bag with wheels, and I was a teenager!

No gift is a bad gift. I'm grateful for whatever gift might come to my life.

When I was 14, I got a makeup mirror instead of the book on Henry Vlll I had wanted. I was very immature & pouted over this, although it makes me ashamed to say so now.

Don't buy personal gifts for anyone.  If I know they like a certain place to shop or eat, I'll get a gift certificate.  However, I've sworn off buying Christmas gifts anymore.  My gift giving is now different times of the year.  If your not sure what to buy someone....cash is always acceptable by everyone!!

One of the worst gifts I ever received when I was a kid was a Christmas sweater. It was green and had a snowman on it with a candy cane. I remember thinking... for real? is this a joke? I'm getting a real gift any second now, right?  No.... that was it  :dontknow:

My grandmother got me a gold, metallic colored vest for Christmas when I was 15.

I got windshield wiper blades from my ex husband.  It was a little embarrassing.

you'll think i'm kidding, but my fiance's aunt and uncle
always wraps free samples and gives them as gifts.
i'm talking about free samples you get in the mail, or
free stuff that companies give away to promote their
logo...

we've gotten those foam drink cozies with random
company logos (not a restaurant, think more along
the lines of a construction site or something) and
one time we got these duffel bags with a gym name
on them. as if they'd signed up for a membership and
gotten those as a perk.

these are well off people, and now i know why!
[ we all have a place in history. mine is in the clouds. ]

I feel your pain, it was my grandmother who got me the tapestry cat bag on wheels...what every teen wants.

Before my ex and I were married he bought me an expensive suit that was for someone that was at least 70 years old.  I was 24 at the time.  My question to him was didn't he ever pay attention to the style I wore.  Too bad people buy what they like and not what the person they are buying the gift for like.  Nevertheless I took the old lady suit and bought this rocking rust pants suit.

I think the worst gift was a cast iron frying pan that I received from you husband about 24 years ago.  But now I would be greatful for that gift.  Now when we get to that time of year he just say write me a list of what and where to purchase.  After the year with the fying pan I started going to the jewelry store in Septmeber and pick out about 3 or 4 things and then he would go in and pick out the one he wants to get me.  But that was before kids.

This year i got a book on draw- on animal hands. it gives you a pattern of how to make your hand look like a certain type of animal. There are ducks, pigs, cows, and dogs. i thought it was for my little cousin. oops.
