The problem with the all good people go to heaven doctrine is that no one is ruling the Earth(there all in heaven) thus there's no 1,000 year reign.

So when October passes and he's still here then will he admit "Rapture" is inaccurate?  Some people are really out there.

I believe in Jesus' second coming, he could be here now for all we know.

You really don't see any hypocrisy in this?

To all of you saying "Oh yeah they're nuts and are inaccurate lol" just remember to really think about the myths you honestly believe will take place.

The Bible is very clear that though we may know the season of the times, we do not know exactly when the world will end or when Christ will come back.

No, I said it correctly. If you read the article you would know what I meant, here's the part below:

The doctrine known as the Rapture teaches that believers will be taken up to heaven, while everyone else will remain on earth for a period of torment, concluding with the end of time. Camping believes that will happen in October.

"If May 21 passes and I'm still here, that means I wasn't saved. Does that mean God's word is inaccurate or untrue? Not at all," Warden said.

He believes that he will be taken up to Heaven by October and if he's not he wasn't saved. Combine that w/his comment on God's word being inaccurate or untrue... All I want to know is if HE will admit HE was wrong believing in the rapture if he doesn't get saved.

All of that is completely different than my believing there is a second coming of Jesus.

Well my idea was actually to point out that you both believe in a myth. The only difference with it is one believes they know when it's going to happen, and the other is going " :dontknow: but it's bound to happen."

I'll put money on him pulling a 'Jehovah's Witness' and say "Oh we were off by a few days...a few months...a few years..." through time and then nobody will remember the foul up. It's a decent cover up strategy that I've seen before with things like this since I was a kid.

...and then the Kalki Avatar from Hindu prophecy will appear and get us out of the present dark age and bring this world to perfection. Just watch! I dunno when, but it'll be soon!

ULTIMATELY this is a publicity stunt to get christianity into the media. Unfortunately for the followers, this is doing nothing but damaging them and their beliefs when viewed through the eyes of rational and realistic freethinkers and non-believers.

Edit: Maybe we should make some money off of this thing. Bet them some $ that it won't happen. Hiyooooo!

Humanity has been predicting the end of the world since the beginning of our existence. Since only God knows when this will occur, I suggest that we concentrate on living moral, compassionate lives one day at a time.

I had no idea that there was a book of Mary. I wonder how to get a copy of the book. :)

I don't think so. The bible says no one can predict or know the day when Jesus Christ will return. The best thing to do is to be ready when he comes.

I'm afraid this lady will be disappointed. It will take ungrateful humans far longer than May 21 to destroy the beautiful planet the God gave us to take care of.

I would have to draw upon scripture...something Jesus says....only the Father knows the appointed hour and day...and does it really matter?  The beliver and followers of Christ are to be ready.
Luke 12:35-40 “Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning, like servants waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him. It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. Truly I tell you, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them. It will be good for those servants whose master finds them ready, even if he comes in the middle of the night or toward daybreak. But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into. You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.”

You can try to predict all you want...your soul could be called for this very hour....
