which is worst drinking or smoking

i know alot of people who smoke and drink i was one of them for many years i gave up drinking 5 years ago i still smoke and probably will for the rest of my life but i am so sick of everyone who says drinking is better then smoking i don't agree people don't smoke and go out and kill people they need to put all there attention on the drinking and leave the people who smoke alone. with all the new laws the drinkers still get off easier then the smokers do.let me no what you think

I think that what people are referring to when they say "worse" is that I can choose whether or not I drink with you but I can't choose whether or not I smoke with you, as soon as you light up I'm getting the second hand smoke. So even though you aren't going to kill me in a car accident (theoretically anyway), if I live with you or we spend a lot of time together you are still killing me. Slowly but it is still happening. And yes I know that not everyone who smokes dies of cancer or some other lung disease but it increases your risk and the risk of everyone else around you even if you only smoke moderately. If you only drink moderately and never drive after you drink then the chances of you affecting anyone else are very slim.

smoking can affect yourself a lot, but drinking can affected others like drunk driving or you making bad judgment but if you drink with people you trust like friends and family you should be ok. smoking is more of a individual thing

I think smoking is the worst, because that smell is horrible and causes so many health probelms. Drinking does too, but smoking you are putting so muc toxins in your body and your lungs. I can not stand smokers

smoking is worse on a personal level, but I haven't heard of people getting killed by "smoking and driving" only "drinking and driving"......

Smoking and drinking is bad for you. Smoking is the worst because it can do a lot of harm to you and it turns your lungs black. I can't stand the smell of it and I just do not like being around someone who smokes. The smell tends to be too strong for me that it have me coughing. Drinking can affect you in so many ways, but I also know it can affect your health if you are an alcoholic.

They are both awful for the body when used frequently.
I am an occasional drinker, but I limit myself so I don't become dependent.
I can't stand smoking though, I've never actually smoked a cigarette in my life.

Have you ever lived with someone who suffered and died from lung cancer?  Well, I have, and it was a very hard time for all of us.  It was difficult to see my husband suffering and going through treatment and then slowly dying from the cancer.  He had been a smoker for most of his life.  Now I see my son-in-law smoking.  He usually smokes outside.  But, he often coughs until you think he is going to pass out.  He also saw his mother and father and grandfather die at a younger age as a result of their smoking and he still smokes.

I think drinking is slightly worse than smoking, since it can kill you so much faster. Alcohol poisoning? Kidney failure? Fatty liver... but that's usually reversible.
