I hope this explains the difference between Search Engine Optimization techniques
But simply put White Hat SEO is ethical in nature.
Blackhat SEO can be used unethically in nature.
its the person using the techniques whether its white or black hat.

On the other hand, black hat SEO comprises techniques that are deceptive nature and aim at instant increase in ranking of a website.
White hat SEO technique comprises of informative content creation, targeting competitive keywords, making the website search engine and user-friendly etc.
Along with the above, SEO professionals performing white hat SEO go for link building popularity, social bookmarking and blogging.
Common Black Hat techniques are spamdexing, link harvesting and keyword stuffing.
SEOs performing this activity use hidden text (either as text coloured similar to the background or in an invisible positioned off screen) to mislead search engines. Cloaking is another popular Black Hat technique. This application gives a different page result when a page is being requested by a human visitor or a search engine. Penalties for black hat technique Search engines have strict guidelines for black hat. A website can be penalized or banned for performing black hat SEO. Search engines can reduce the ranking of such websites or can eliminate them from listing permanently. BMW and Ricoh are examples of stringent actions taken by search engines for black hat practice. In 2006, Google also removed PPC Agency BigMouthMedia from its listing. What is the solution? SEO companies offering professional SEO services avoid all sorts of black Hat practices. Search engine optimization is a long term process and only healthy practices can yield good results. The advent and popularity of social Medias have helped a lot to SEO professionals in this regard. They are using viral marketing as a useful strategy for making websites popular in a shorter time frame.
