This Valentine's Day is also my 6 month anniversary. I will be celebrating by going out to eat with my husband at Olive Garden. I only get to go there on special occasions because he's not big on Italian food. I hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day!

It was low-key this year. Since the holiday is on a weekday this year, we celebrated over the weekend. My parents gave each other their favorite candy (Mom, dark chocolate; Dad, macaroons). I didn't really receive anything, but felt good helping both shop for their gifts (they're older).

;D Happy Valentines Day! This year I decided to do something alittle different. Alot of people think that this day is more for couples,etc... and I did  celebrate it that way with my baby, but alot of us at the church that I attend decided that it would be a wonderful thing to make heart-shaped sugar cookies and home-made cards for all of the elderly men and women of the church. Most of them are without a spouse and it would be nice to let them know that they are loved and appreciated. I must say it went very well. The smiles and hugs was well worth the effort. It brought a whole new and wonderful meaning to Valentines Day!!!

Happy valentine's day!

According to one legend, Valentine actually sent the first "valentine" greeting himself. While in prison, it is believed that Valentine fell in love with a young girl — who may have been his jailor's daughter — who visited him during his confinement. Before his death, it is alleged that he wrote her a letter, which he signed "From your Valentine," an expression that is still in use today. Although the truth behind the Valentine legends is murky, the stories certainly emphasize his appeal as a sympathetic, heroic, and, most importantly, romantic figure. It's no surprise that by the Middle Ages, Valentine was one of the most popular saints in England and France. http://www.history.com/topics/valentines-day  :peace:
