You have to be very careful how you use your credit card online. I'm sure all of us have heard some horror stories of identity thief.

In my opinion...

It depends on the site. I've placed even my SSN on one of these sites - free credit score website. That's a website under pretty well protection and it's necessary to apply your SSN to acquire your credit score anyway! Websites like that, I believe, are alright and has never hurt me.

I've placed my credit card information on the internet possibly a million times, as I normally shop online. It's very imperative that the site is protected and that must be verified (usually done so by the mark they have somewhere on the page, stating that it's safe).

People have online bank accounts and other areas where personal information is recorded. Generally speaking, the 'internet' can be the norm for recording personal information such as credit cards for specialty workers, if the job calls for it. Again, it all depends on where you put this information, rather than 'don't do it online!' That's a safe behavior, but in some cases, unnecessary.

This is just my opinion!
"Make me believe."

Bday is fine but why are you putting your credit card info on a survey?  Or am I reading the question wrong. I think many sites are safe and then there are others that are not.

I wouldn't do it anymore. I had someone from MO actually MAKE a credit card in my name and used it charging over $2500.00 to my checking account. fortunately my bank didn't hold me liable for any of it, but BE CAUTIOUS!

I think putting credit card info in the internet is pretty safe if the site is a trusted site. Most credit card info when processed for a purchase, etc, comes out with everything but the last 4 numbers of the card encrypted after the transaction is complete.

Unless you see a little lock (security symbol) on the site, don't provide any secure info.
