I was the same way I still took off a semister before going and I feel I did do better.  I needed a break and I took it got 2 degrees and started my own home based business that I enjoy a lot.  Its never to late to go.  Just get up go to your car and go sign up.  Doesn't matter your age if you want it go for it.  Only you can do it not someone else for you.  If you sign up for finanicial aide make sure to sign up for as many as you can fill them all out trust me.  My husband is a college professor and he tells the students to sign up for all of them one or more will come through.    Believe in yourself and go for it.  Its not to late.

I know the feeling. I didn't go to college right after high school because I was about to be a mom. I wish I would have still gone or at the least gone sooner. The longer I kept putting it off it seemed like I kept getting more and more afraid of failure so it kind of froze me. But I finally got the courage up a few years ago after we had our second child. It was hard, (especially since my second was going through surgery throughout her first year of life, but 6 months having her we get another surprise on the way) but it was one of the most satisfying things I've ever felt. Then go figure, the tuition area messed up so for the past year I haven't been able to take any classes & its made me feel like crap. But I will get it sorted out & keep taking classes online at the least because its just plain what I need to do for my family!! And even if not for them - It made me feel so good about myself.  :)

I went immediately after college without a plan and I just felt like I was wasting my money, now I am taking a bit of a break but I have full intentions of going back.

A good education is very important. I think the social experience is something that is also beneficial.

Education is a great thing, but when a huge loan is attached, is it still worth it? Instead of finding an interest and then a college that offers that course, the better thing is probably to find a good lesser expensive college first, and then choose a major from what they offer, even if its something you feel indifferent about.

actually you shouldnt feel bad, im in college now and im 24, and let me tell you that usually people who go to college right after highschool are usually there to just be stupid and flirt rather than be there to study because they are "forced" and now that im a little more mature im actually there to study and know what I want. I actually am very happy to be in college now than to have been here when i was 18 and only thinking about having fun. :)

There is no need to feel the pressure. Everybody can attend college at the right time. School is always available for everyone after HS. Everybody’s situation is different. Some need to immediately make a living to support themselves after moving out of their parent’s home while others continue to live at home and can choose to attend college after high school. At the very least those who worked before attending college have already gained some world and work experience compared to college students who don’t.

It's always good to have a degree and it will never be too late to go back to school!!
I think people who have been working for a while then go back to school are actually the ones who studying harder then the ones go directly from high school.

I went about 4 years after high school, but have not finished my degree! Need a couple more semester hours for it! Been paying the student loans though.. They added up real fast, and not having a degree makes it harder to pay for them. Wish i could have finished!

It is never too late. Try adult education or classes online.
