Have you heard of photo voltaic cells? There are quite expensive but your electric bill drops by hundreds of dollars per month.

I live totally off grid and have solar panels. My electric bill now.....doesn't exist but even before when I was totally on the grid my bill was never "hundreds of dollars"

So.....either you simply don't know a thing about the subject, or, you exaggerate way too much lol.

not possible, to many places where the sun doesnt shine enough. I agree we need to completely wean ourselfs from fossil fuels and steadfastly refuse to even consider nuclear which is alot cleaner when all is working well but horendous when not.

I don't think we should try to limit ourselves to one type of system but instead incorporate solar, wind, bio fuels etc into a complete sysytem.

At present I have only solar with generator back up but thats simply because I refuse to make bills and am building and paying for my system as I go. I need probably a couple more panels and a new battery bank then I plan to add a wind generator.
