A couple of times... both in the countryside and in Dublin City and suburbs.  Most people are nice.  The food is OK.  Irish breakfast is great, but too heavy to eat for more than a few days in a row.  Seafood is surprisingly good and cheap there.  Stay away from the touristy places like Temple Bar in Dublin... plenty to do and explore and it is pretty safe for a city.

I was just there this last summer.   I loved it.  I have and do travel quite frequently, and Ireland is one of my favorites.  Mainly because of the people.  For a northern European country, they are surprisingly Mediterranean in attitude.  Friendly, relaxed, and strangers will come up and talk to you.  Plus, you cannot beat the local brew and whiskey.  :)     The food is nothing to write home about, but the breakfast is great.   I am planning on returning very soon.
