I think there are way to many reality shows in general.  It all started with MTV with their Real World and Road Rules.  I wonder when MTV even showed a music video last.  I miss actual music videos.  Back in the 90's I used to love watching TRL while grunge was still around and rap wasn't all about "bling"

I love Secret Life of the American Teenager.  Not only does it cover the teens and what they are going through these days it also covers the adults and issues that arise with them.

I have a teenage daughter and she was given a crash course in Real Life.  A friend of hers at school became pregnant this year and is now having a baby.  However, her parents are treating it as a good thing and they are happy and excited about it.  She was only 12 years old when she got pregnant and going to be 13 when she has the baby.  The father is a 16 year juvenile delinquent that has since moved in with her and her parents.  He is even abusive to the girl.

I can thankfully say that not limiting and keeping shows like this from my daughter opened up her eyes to what can and will go wrong.  She knows the right thing to do and refuses to even think about having sex because she does not want a kid at her age.

She also knows that she can talk to me at any point in time without harsh treatment or me throwing a tantrum.  That is the key to kids coming to parents anyway.  Parents have to be approachable in those situations.  If kids are scared to talk to their parents they are going to end up making bad decisions more often that not.

Yay for shows like Secret Life!

It's not!  They even threw her a baby shower and invited all the girls from school.  I am glad that I am not the only parent that did not agree with it though.  My daughter was not the only one that was not allowed to attend.

I feel bad for the baby but I am not going to allow my daughter to attend something so festive and joyous as a baby shower.  That would be like saying I approve and I so do not!

I think that just goes to show the declining family value morals that are plaguing our country.  TV seems to add to the corruption of our society.
Have a wonderful day!

No I dont because its teaching kids teenagers what life is truely all about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >:(

K first off i have diagree with the fact that it teaches children and teenagers what life is truly about. These kids see that there are teen mothers on tv and they think its great way to be completely tied to the same guy at an early age. But what they don't see is all the emotional issuse that being a teen mother has. They don't see the stress a child can add to there lifes, the amount of money that it takes to raise a child, and the social oppertuntiy that all teens get a chance to do. They also miss out on the dating sence cause they have to take into conceration what kind of guys they date cause they don't just have there life to think about but also there child. Then there are those who drop out of school to raise there child or because the pressure of others giving them a hard time about being a mother so early.
So did i think that there are too many teen mom shows? The answer is yes. Cause they really don't show what is really happing to these teen mothers. so i say take them off the air. Thats what children have parents for.

YES I THINK THERE IS TO MANY TEEN MOM SHOWS. SOME TEENS  I THINK DO THIS TO GET THE ATTENTION,CAUSE YOU CAN TELL HOW THEY ACT.
AND YES SOME OF THIS TEEN MOM  HAS SOME TO DO WITH THE PARENTS.BUT THAT ALSO DEPENDS ON THE SITUATION OF THE TEEN MOM

TV shows are based on real life and in today's world there are alot of teen moms, and maybe if they see how the kids on tv react to parenting it will discourage them, then again it can do the opposite.  I do think there are alot of messed up shows and also a bad infuence on teens wich is Family guy, South Park, and sometimes the Simpsons, there are also a few others out there, but shows like Reba I think are good because it shows how the teens reacts in a positive manner.
