Interesting blurb I read today: Why did the creator of Mother's Day try to end the holiday? Due to the holiday's commercialization, Anna Jarvis, the creator of Mother’s Day, spent her inheritance and the rest of her life campaigning against what she saw as a misuse of the tribute to mothers.
