Don't believe the hype with the show.  It makes for great entertainment, but it's mostly unreliable and overexaggerated.

it's not exaggerated, it's exactly what it says it is...EXTREME couponing

I agree with a few of you who said it's extreme hoarding. Who in their right mind needs 80 jars of mayo. That's crazy! I like to use coupons when it's for the products I use. Especially for diapers and formula which are expensive.

I haven't seen the television show but have witness a few extreme couponers at nearby grocery stores.  I think it's great for them, their time, money and effort.

It's definitely not unreliable or exaggerated. Some people literally make it their full time job to collect coupons, figure out the best deals, and go get a ton of stuff for almost no money. It's controversial, because most coupons specifically say they are non-transferable, so getting your friends and neighbors to collect coupons for you is kind of against the rules, and I wouldn't be surprised if companies put an end to extreme couponing, but for now the supermarkets accept coupons without asking where they got them. It's not exaggerated, it's just something you'd have to devote your whole life to doing.

My wife just got into the extreme coupon thing. We save a lot of money this way. Well buy 200.00 worth of food shopping but only pay 50.00 you do that math.

I agree that they treat it like a full time job, and they probably save enough money for it to be worth it. And if they enjoy it then hey, why not!?
