Gas prices are starting to go down here in Southern California, they are dipping below the $4.00 per gallon mark and that is a good thing.

Since school got out, I've decided to keep the kids home and drive only when necessary- walking the rest of the time. I live in a rural area, so we do have to drive for shopping purposes. However, my dh said he paid $3.68 in Colorado Springs when he was there last. It cost him $45. My kids and I use a suburban to get places. Before the prices went down, I paid $125 to fill up.

It's finally starting to drop, but it's not dropping fast enough, and people are actually starting to think prices near $3.50 are reasonable!  To me, prices would be reasonable if they were about $2 lower per gallon.

They are $3.45 - $3.75 for regular unleaded here in Phoenix.

I will never forget the summer we moved out to the country in Washington State. My mom had a living fit when gas went from 50 cents to 71 cents a gallon. We were going to be lucky to go to town once (maybe twice) a month. She worked in the local school district as teacher's aide but in the summer she would take jobs in town, as a meat wrapper. She was going to have to figure out if she could afford to work in town.

They still live in the same house. Now with gas at $3.89 She tells me, my dad and her went to town twice yesterday and are going twice today.

LOL Go figure!

I was lying in bed the other night, looking up at the stars, and thinking, "Where in the heck is my roof?"

Yes ours here in Florida is going down as well averaging $3.61 per gallon. I guess people have decided to lay it down causing the gas moguls to lower the cost!

That's not as far-fetched as you think! Google ITER and you'll see research is ongoing to develop........drum-roll please...............Fusion energy in southern France! The first fusion reactor is slated for completion and should be online by 2015. That is the same energy produced by the Sun, and guess what the only by-product is?

You guessed it.........WATER! A safe and inexhaustible supply of energy that I believe will eventually replace fission energy and the need for all fossil fuels. Our future cars will eventually be fusion cars. Hybrids are only a step in the right direction. They are not the final answer. Yeah, I know what some of you skeptics out there are going to say. "Not in our lifetime." Maybe it's for our children's children's children. Only time will tell. You're talking to a dyed-in-the-wool optimist.

Fusion energy...FusionCash. Coincidence? Who knows?

Postscript: I own a hybrid.   :peace:

Gas Prices here in souther Missouri are $3.49 to $3.69 I have not left my house since the first so I don't know what they are right now but my husband and I are really on a fixed income with him only getting SSi which they (Social Security) took 33 dollars of that so its been ruff on us I can't work becuase I hurt myself in the homehealth care field and have not won my case for disability, so we may go to town once a week if that but town is 30 miles round trip with one grociery store.
