religion? whats the difference!

some say god is a thought. an imagined combination of truth and legend of someone who saved people by showing them  the pain in the world. he made them stop and think about themselves. others say a higher being keeping watch over the billions of people out there. I say god is a nessasary belief. many cultures have different form but still it is one belief! that there is hope after death. the thought is what keeps the world spinning. it keeps those honest that are and punishes those who are not. i believe we all have our own.

Religion is made by man to fit into his ideas of worship.  As long as you know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour and follow the teachings of God's Holy Word, you have a spot reserved in eternity with the Lord.

Ditto, almost every religion monotheistic and polytheistic has at least a concept of Christ. Even devout Jews have some sort of a messiah eleven if it hasn't been revealed to them.

As a JW I obviously believe in following Christ not because he's most high but because he expounded and fulfilled the law and died for my sins.

Religion is man-made.  God provides the Holy Spirit for those who believe.  Satan has his demons working on those who doesn't allow the Holy Spirit to fill their lives.

Walksalone, I dont need to quote crap from books just to back up my point, I tell it as I see it, from years of experience being around religion, growing up around it, having it shoved down my thoat, being a religious puppet for my parents(forced to play my saxophone in front of an entire church, when I did NOT want to, several times!)
 Actually, I am a recovering from being baptist, and yes, I do know that there are more spiritual relief systems out there, so what's your point? This is a debate and discussion section, draw any conclusion you like, walksalone!

For me religion is the main reason why people are so confuse now in day's . There are so many people who adore other things than God the have other gods who really can not help them at all so that is why i don;t belive in no religion cause it can't save u from the doors of hell . But God gave his son jesus t die for are sins n now he is alive that is the difference about religion is made from the man . It's better to look for are salvation were will be with him for ever.

Out of all of the religions, Christianity is the only religion that worships a living Savior.  Jesus Christ rose from the dead and is alive! If you trust in Jesus as your Savior, when you die you will go to Heaven and have everlasting life!

Now I don't take sides nor do I have a preference, my family is all over the religions map from Wicca to Jehovah witnesses and is always at each other throats about who is right. Bleh! Anyway, I was doing research one day and from what it looks like every religion started with the Egyptian history. I don't think anyone knows till they finally lay to rest.

@CMJordan89: Moses is not only an Egyptian name but he left Egypt(exiled) to learn about the true God. This same person wrote the first five books of the bible plus Job.

P.S. The Hebrew word Elohim and Greek word Theos just mean ruler!!!! I guess the translators decided to use the word God when referring to spiritual rulers(Gods) in heaven. They did the same for the Hebrew word Malak and the Greek word aggelos which is used for both angels and messengers!!!!!!

If one would take sociology or even Psychology 101, he would know that all religion started out as a cult. For example, all religion's goal is for its member to submit into the religion's beliefs and surrender to its god. Both cults and religions teach the members about the sacrifices made by their prophets and how we could "spread the word" and/or repay our debts. There are many more similarities other than these... No matter how much one would debate against it, religion is basically a cult covered by, well, religion.
