Do you have Life Insurance? Which company and can you recommend?

I don't want to get too nosy about how much you pay per month, but I am looking for life insurance for myself and any information can help me make a more informed decision.  I consider myself educated, but I didn't know the difference between term and whole life insurance until recently.  I definitely will be only looking for term life insurance.  I'm scheduled to talk to an agent tomorrow, but my wife just informed me that I don't need an agent and that he will likely just try to sell me on whole life insurance.  My wife is very smart.   Not sure if I should cancel the meeting tomorrow or just go in there and tell them I only want term life.
