This is, after all, a Bible verse thread, so it would be perfectly normal to post many verses from God's Word.  I wonder if someone did or did not actually read the material included with the verses.

  Proverbs 1:7
"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction."

Proverbs 23:9
"Speak not in the ears of a fool: for he will despise the wisdom of thy words."

Proverbs 26:4
"Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest you also be like unto him."

Hebrews 4:12, KJV
"For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
NIV
"For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart."

"There can be no escape from the penetrating, searching application of the Word of God. That truth has power to show what man is, and is like a penetrating sword that lays open the whole man; compare Isaiah 49:2. The phrase "the Word of God" here may be applied, therefore, to the "truth" of God, however made known to the mind. In some way it will bring out the real feelings, and show what man is."

"The word of God penetrates deeper into a man than any sword; it enters into the soul and spirit, into all our sensations, passions, appetites, nay, to our very thoughts; and sits as judge of the most secret intentions, contrivances, and sentiments of the heart."

Proverbs 16:24, KJV
"Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones."

NIV
"Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones."

It's an FC off-topic thread which is being used to proselytize/bible-thump as well as to oppose religious proselytization.  There are already millions of copies of the religious propaganda being requoted from still extant.  There aren't an equivalent number of opposing viewpoints published.  What this means is that opposition to religious propaganda is in the minority point of view and that there's a brain-washing problem that is being addressed.  'Dueling Quotes', as it were.

Proverbs 15:1- A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

That would account for why any "anger" stirred-up by bible-thumping repeatedly does not turn awa "wrath".

blames them for his own mistakes."

This was a verse I had to rely on during the teen years of one of my kids.  The softer answer would work so much better with him, with better communication between us.  I didn't yell, though, but instead of raising the voice in frustration or anger, the softer questions or comments to him worked so much better.

John 7:37-39 On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive.

Textual hearsay remains unsubstantiated hearsay.

Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations."

That verse can be looked at according to God's wisdom and the world's wisdom.

Wisdom of both would be a discernment or keen insight into the real nature of things, possessing skill and expertise in being able to see through things.  Examples:  Seeing through the "sales pitch" of a con artist;  also a politician that sounds clever and smart, including goals to help the economy (just one of many) and yet wisdom would know that the "speech" is deceptive, half-truths, and even lies that won't happen.  (Wisdom of God would be the same, especially being able to discern things that are righteous or not, Biblical or not, spiritual or not.)

Understanding would be a special skill of applying good judgment successfully in many areas of a person's life, work, (and spiritual, if Christian, religious.)  Examples:  Building a business and understanding how it must be taken in steps to achieve the final outcome;  figuring out and solving a problem or problems that will lead to better results of whatever the problem is in.

Believers and non-believers can both grow in wisdom and understanding.  If one is a believer, wisdom is also learned and developed on things of God.  Understanding applies to both.  Technically, anyone in here can take this verse and apply it to their lives - not just to believers.  Someone building a business step by step and attaining the overall goal of running the business is a happy person in that he/she knows and understands that business from the bottom up.  There may be problems, as with anything else, but there is more of a contentment and happiness there because of their wisdom and understanding of building and now running that business, paying bills, putting food on the table, etc.

"Do unto others..." (you know the rest).  The Golden Rule is a basic part of every religion and is a critical part of living a spiritual existence.  Could you imagine the world if everyone treated others the way they want to be treated?  (With the exception of masochists of course)... Anyway, it would be a great world if everyone lived by it...

That verse can be looked at according to God's wisdom and the world's wisdom.

Only the second contention is plausible, while the first is not.  That's due to the first being a speculative attribution based upon a religious belief, (which, of course, has no evidentiary basis).

Such "skill and expertise" arise from keen observations and the ability to apply critical thinking, (logical reasoning).

(Wisdom of God would be the same, especially being able to discern things that are righteous or not, Biblical or not, spiritual or not.)

No, these are not parallels. There is no evidence that such abilities arise from religious or, mystical sources. The concept of "righteousness" is dependent upon religious preference, (if any), and varies from one religious belief system to another and the "faith" of different 'believers'.  In so doing, such a concept becomes too subjective to claim it as "wisdom", (since that sort of "wisdom" is folly to another).

Understanding would be a special skill of applying good judgment successfully in many areas of a person's life, work ...

.. (and spiritual, if Christian, religious.)

No, that would be an attempt to co-opt/misapply secular "understanding" as some sort of xtian concept. Such an underhanded assimulation and misapplication of "understanding" doesn't apply to religion-based beliefs in the same way it applies to non-religious understanding because the latter isn't faith-based and the former is.

Believers and non-believers can both grow in wisdom and understanding.  If one is a believer, wisdom is also learned and developed on things of God.  Understanding applies to both.

Merely claiming that it applies to both secular and religious "understanding" constitutes using the word as a misnomer, (for the reasons iterated in the above refutations).

There may be problems, as with anything else, but there is more of a contentment and happiness there because of their wisdom and understanding of building and now running that business, paying bills, putting food on the table, etc..

"The foundation of morality should not be made dependent on myth nor tied to any authority lest doubt about the myth or about the legitimacy of the authority imperil the foundation of sound judgment and action."
-- Albert Einstein

"The fact that a believer is (possibly) happier than a skeptic is no more to the point than the fact than a drunken man is happier than a sober one."
-- George Bernard Shaw
