One difference between Christianity and many other world religions and/or cults, is the fact that Christianity is the only one based on "faith" alone ...

That's not an accurate statement; islam, judaism and hinduism, (for example), are also "based on 'faith' alone".  However, it's understood that you were presenting this within the context of "soteriology" and that the first two examples have varying positions on the soteriology concept while hinduism doesn't even address it.

Now, these kinds of things, if in the D&D, are the kinds of topics I like to discuss with others.  Thanks for bringing up one of them.  :)

Well, the point was raised within the Off Topic forum but, could be reposted to d&d in order to d&d it at your own risk, (as FC's warning admonishes).  If wished, simply entitle a d&d thread "Soteriology" and give your take on that concept.  You should already realize that bible-thumping quotes used in support of the concept are likely to be disregarded as not being your own words.

I may just do that.

I will say, though, that since salvation is an integral part of Soteriology, and has to do with accepting Jesus, through faith, by God's grace, God's Word has to be used in some responses to back up certain points.

Although the concepts can be discussed and debated without quoting self-referential sources, it's your choice to do so, (just as it's my choice to disregard self-referential references as being circular).

You can disregard them - as is your choice.  They can be used, along with our "own words" as well, when responding to someone or questioning certain aspects of the topic.

They can be used but, they don't have to be used.  Are you suggesting that the topic cannot be discussed or debated without intentionally dragging a contentious reference source into it?  That seems likely to create tangents peripheral to the main context.

I will also want to address your comment with you saying it isn't entirely accurate concerning the "based on faith alone" comment I previously made.

That's fine.  I'll just point out that judaism is the faith-based religion from which xtianity derives, (and the hewbrew religion is based on "faith alone" as well as being partially derived from some pre-existing Egyptian religious precepts).

Moreover, when God gives someone wealth and possessions, and the ability to enjoy them, to accept their lot and be happy in their toil — this is a gift of God. They seldom reflect on the days of their life, because God keeps them occupied with gladness of heart.

God wants us to view what we have (whether it is much or little) with the right perspective — our possessions are a gift from God. Although they are not the source of joy, they are a reason to rejoice because every good thing comes from God. We should focus more on the Giver than the gift. We can be content with what we have when we realize that with God we have everything we need.

:angel11:  Thank you.  I need to take time to read my bible more.  I use to get up every morning and read a chapter or before I went to bed but I haven't done that for a while.  I go to church but I know I NEED to read the word and hide it in my heart.

Amen: Unfortunatly, you can read Bible any time, but the importan thing for any reader to fallow it as a roll of the live   :angel12:

How can a hypothetical supernatural entity be attributed with providing "our possessions" as 'gifts' without presupposing such a specious religious belief?  Such false attributions are the taproot of blind faith since there's exactly zero evidence to support such a contention.

We can be content with what we have when we realize that with God we have everything we need.

That flimsy proselytization rests upon false assumptions.

Proverbs 6:12-15
A troublemaker and a villain,
who goes about with a corrupt mouth,
who winks maliciously with his eye,
    signals with his feet
    and motions with his fingers,
who plots evil with deceit in his heart—
    he always stirs up conflict.  Therefore disaster will overtake him in an instant;
he will suddenly be destroyed—without remedy.

Your self-referential admissions are still c&p thumping from a dubious source.

:) Some days I don't think I would make it through if it weren't for God's word to remind me that he is looking out for me and that I must trust him to make the crooked places straight and the rough edges smooth.  And, that he knows the desires of my heart and what I need even before I ask.

This is what I and my family live by:
King James Version (Matthew 7:1)"Judge not, that you be not judged."(Matthew 7:12)"Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets."

The "Golden Rule", (under various names or, none at all), predates the plagiaristic co-opting normally engaged in by 'biblical writers'.

So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the one who does not condemn himself by what he approves. But whoever has doubts is condemned if they eat, because their eating is not from faith; and everything that does not come from faith is sin.

"... everything that does not come from faith is sin."

Since "faith" is a belief which lacks substantive evidence, the 'quote' appear to imply that anything else is "sin" because it has supportive evidence.  It's little wonder why such irrationality appeals to irrational believers.
