Not good to lie to qualify for a survey. I have gotten extra "work" and monetary gain from surveys because they were looking for my specific demographic. Also, a lot of survey sites have the initial information you put in and will disqualify you if it doesn't match up. Just better to be upfront and honest about who and what you are.

Its very frustrating trying to get surveys and never being qualified  :BangHead:

How would you even know what demographic they're looking for?

I don't think it's worth it to lie, period. It's too hard to keep your story straight the next time.

I don't think it's worth it. You never know what specific qualifications they are looking for, and what if the time you lie, you're true answers would have qualified you. Just keep trying, you'll get some!

Also...  I've noticed that some surveys will ask you the same question, but in a different order, just to verify that you're telling the truth.

Most of them are not interested in the opinion of a senior citizen.

I don't think it's worth it to lie, ever. You never know if your honest answer or  your lie is what they are looking for anyway. I have enough honest answers to keep up with that I can't imagine complicating my life by keeping track of lies.

You can find me on Youtube!

Ha, that is funny! :)  I know exactly what you are talking about.  The target demographic in many surveys especially two of the higher paying surveys is for Hispanics, African Americans, or those making large incomes.  In fact, I was on another survey site last week and the surveys on that site actually told you what demographic they were catering to!  I was amazed to say the least.  By the way I'm not just guessing about my statement as two of the surveys on this site were also on that site and they stated who the survey was intended for. :star:  Nothing wrong with a survey trying to chose a certain socio-economic  or racial demographic, just wish I knew before I started.  Just a warning and not from personal experience, but you may very well be blacklisted from any survey group that detects inconsistent data.  Who knows you may be rejected for a survey for not being caucasian and being broke, not likely, but it's possible.

I agree that you shouldn't falsify your info. These survey companies will keep track and if you start changing your story from one time to the next, not only could you miss the time they ARE looking for your demographic, they might, and probably will, realize you are putting in inconsistent data and disqualify you every time from then on.

That is great that you have the time to put into your home/family and school.  I am not the surveyor, but my guess would be that a student is more desirable than a homemaker.  Totally, just a guess.  They will probably assume that as a student you are moving up the ladder and will be able to eventually afford(if not already) a more diverse amount of goods/services for whom the surveyor is being hired by.  As long as you don't change from black to white some things are tentative and can reasonably be changed as the events in your life do.  My income has changed slightly less than 5,000 to reflect real world changes in my family's total salary.  My wife has an Associates degree, but is continuing college and will eventually change our information again.

I never qualify for surveys, gave up a long time ago. Maybe that's the trick.  ;)
