Do you remember your dreams?
« on: August 29, 2011, 10:00:18 am »
How often do you actually remember a dream when you wake up?  Is it the whole dream or only part of it?  A lot of times I only remember that I had a dream but not what it actually was.  I would try to recall it and could only remember a small part of it.  I know there are many books that talk about how to interpret a dream and claim that certain items within your dream mean different things.  Some even go so far as to believe that dreams aren’t dreams at all they are ‘memories’ of a past life.  Personally I don’t believe that.  I mean in one dream I helped put down a huge fire breathing dragon after it swallowed a wizard.  Now while I believe dragons did exists at one time I don’t think that was a vision into my past.  I think that was going to sleep after watching one too many fantasy movies.

I remember my dreams once in awhile. The other day I know I had two dreams, but I could only recall one. I had woke up after having the first, then fell back to sleep and had the other, but by the time I woke up for good I had forgot the first.

I'll remember my dreams a few times a week.  Sometimes while i'm dreaming, i'll realize its a dream because something is off - like i'll go 'hey, why am i in class when its summer vacation'.  That's when it gets really fun

Anyone ever had it when they're dreaming, then wake up in the middle of the night, fall back asleep and end up in that same dream?

Yeah, I've done that.

I remember most of them.  I remembered part of the one I had before I woke up.  I dreamed I was at the beach and I was naked.  I got up to walk to the bathroom and I was naked.  I've had several dreams where I was naked walking around in public.  I wasn't uncomfortable doing it.  I have to go look it up and see what it means.

I feel like I only remember the messed up ones. I'll wake up with a horrible feeling in my gut. I can't seem to remember te good ones, unless that means there are no good ones. scary.

SPEAKing of dreams I swear my toddler is confusing his dreams with reality - some of the things he says I'm like buddy I think you're talking about a dream you had lol.

The only dreams I remember are the ones that I can actually finish. It seems that every time I'm having an extremely great dream something like a phone call or the alarm clock would wake me up. It's so frustrating to wake up without finding out what the end of the dream was going to be. I do tend to daydream a lot as well. I guess the daydreaming compensates for the dreams I couldn't finish while sleeping. There was this one dream I had that I thought was real. I was trying to figure out if it actually happened or not. It felt like deja vu. It goes like this: My hubby was driving and I was in the passenger side. All of a sudden this red car comes zooming out of nowhere and flips over a guardrail crashing onto the road below the expressway we were on. I could hear the screams of the man and woman before the car hit the ground. It was awful. I actually thought this happened for real. I didn't think I was imagining it. Several days later, I ask my husband if he remembers this and he says no. That's how I figured out it must have been a dream. It was horrible to hear the screaming couple though. Every time I'm on the expressway I remember this dream.

I have learned that in the morning to just lay in bed for one or two minutes and try to get back my dreams.  It seems that if I don't do that they are gone forever.

I remember a lot of my dreams, but not all.  I remember flying and looking down and seeing everything being great in this country, everything fair and everyone being paid for what they're worth.  As I fly I look down on everyone happily attending colleges and universities that they can easily afford, of that their local governments subsidize or pay for, and in my dreams I see colleges and universities that earnestly exist in order to teach and share knowledge without consideration of profit or monetary gain.  In my dreams I also see employers who care more for their employees than for profit, and then I wake up and join all the rest of you in the real world.

I do all the time. I even dream them repeatedly.
I know there are also those people who feel as if the rememebr their past lives in their dreams and can recall them vividly.
Unfortunately I also remember most ofmy nightmares.
I'm also haiunted by memories of people Ive lost.

I rarely remember what I dreamed. They're usually not significant enough for me to retain them in my memory.

I have one dream that keeps coming back every couple years and the other night it was clear again like a movie and it's turned into a book now for me...
