He's a good little boy, born May 6, 2011.   He was adopted August 21 as a gift for my yellow lab Gypsy who is grieving the loss of "Tony" (July 24, 2011) and Shadow (August 16, 2011).

We named him "Big Tuna" because in less than a week, he became "boss of the house"...

He may look like a little angel...don't let that fool ya! (For about a week, I had no internet connection.  Finally I took the modem to the network store.  Turned out that somebody ("Tuna") had stuck a sharp tooth through the modem cable lately...$10 to fix.)

Pets teach us so much about life and love.  Big Tuna has taught me that nothing ever stays the same.  When a person has done everything they could do for a beloved pet and it just isn't enough--- then there are so many others that need a good, loving home.

The lady that sent him home with me was told about my grieving dog (and how great my former cat was, both cats were adopted from the same kitty shelter).  She gave him two kisses and said she "hoped he would help to heal the hole in our hearts"...he's doing just that.  He's got some BIG pawprints to fill... :)

That's quite a cute/clever kitty bed you got there, Sheryl!   ;D

So sorry to hear about Tony and especially Shadow (your namesake!).   :crybaby2:

Pets are wonderful.  I hope your new kitty brings you lots of joy!

Love that cat bed.  Where'd you get it?

I had a cable chewer once.  I've had to learn good cable management.

My two newest kitties are teenage tomcats in training.  I have a female who lost her son last year.  She's now adopted these two and takes good care of them.   :cat: :cat:

He is beautiful.   I love my cat, we are very close she wont let me go anywhere in the house without her and she is nerver far from me.  I got her at the pound and she must have been through a lot the first few months was a nightmare. Every move every noise would send her flying.  She is a work in progress but she is changing so much.  I recommend to everyone if you want a pet rescue on becasue they all need love and healing.

The cat bed is from "Woodmans" (grocery store).   I'm still learning good cable management I guess since he managed to chew the telephone cord this week.  I have co-workers saving plastic tubes for me now so I can run all the cords through them.   ;D

Thanks everyone for the wonderful posts, the kitty pics and I always love hearing about everyone's kittens/cats!! :cat:

Shelter/rescue pets do make great pets but they usually come with some "issues"... Tuna managed to pick up a virus at the shelter that he's been on antibiotics for.  He's also getting ear drops for an ear infection.  (His first "free" wellness check-up costed $50 for the meds.)  Tuna's not feeling too well and has been taking it out on things in the house...I keep having to toss things in other rooms and shut the door to keep him from damaging them.
***All is well, I'm used to this since this is exactly how my "Tony-the Tiger" came home from the shelter.  Once Tuna's feeling better, I'm certain he'll be back to being his good self.  He's been playing with Gypsy a little more, I hope to be able to get pictures of them together soon.   :)
