I am 120 but only 5 foot tall so I am overweight and trying to loose about 15 pounds.  I was doing great until I had a back injury and now it is very hard since I am limited as to what I can do.

When I was real serious into body building/strength training I developed this problem where I didn't feel right if I couldn't induce the delayed onset muscle syndrome like you describe.  It is amazing how addictive that pain can become or possibly how addictive the use of that as a scale for training perhaps is a better choice of words.  Even though I knew that DOMS wasn't necessary for progression I still craved it and couldn't feel quite satisfied without it.  I am not that way anymore and have reduced my training quite a bit as I knew I was becoming obsessed and too much of a fan of mirrors.

Never heard of someone who was actually into body building, at least big time. But I suppose everyone has their days. What made you stop since then?

I was overtraining and had some injuries that were lasting for over a year (worst was internal oblique that didn't so much as hurt but felt very strange and was impossible to go a day without being aware of it).  Now understand I wasn't taking any pharmaceuticals to assist my training and I worked a regular job so there is only so much the body can handle and recover from.  I also primarily did targeted positive muscle failure (where I had a target number of reps with a predetermined weight and I would perform controlled and timed movements until I reached positive failure (failed to finish the rep).  If I could beat my target range I would increase weight for the next gym session by a small amount).  Always pushing every day to beat a previous performance can strain the mind and days where for unknown reasons you perform worse can seem frustrating (and sometimes devastating if repeated on multiple sessions of that groups training).
There are only 10 types of people in the world:  those who understand binary, and those who don't.

I would kill to have your body type and weight ;D  I'm 4ft 11 in and weight about 160-165 lbs!  My goal is to lose about 20-25 lbs; I have a large frame so modern weight charts allow for those extra lbs.  If I had an average body frame, the goal would be to reach 115 lbs.  I don't look terribly fat either; it's hiding in my hips, thighs and butt rather than on my stomach.  I'm more worried about my general health.

If you don't know your body frame off-hand, a simple way to estimate which type (small, average, large):  hold your wrist with your other hand; if your fingers cannot touch, you have a large frame for your height, if your fingers can touch your thumb, it's an average body type; if your fingers continue on past the end of your thumb, you have a slim body frame.

This test only really works if there's not much fat on your wrists, as it's the thickness of your bones your worried about.

If you have a large frame, add 15-20 lbs (average) to your expected weight for your height.  If you have a slim frame, subtract 15 or so lbs.

I am 5' 6" and I am 155.  I want to lose a good 10lbs.  I have tried a few different things.  But the only thing that works for me is eating low carb and exercise.  Problem is I LOVE sugar, and I am lazy.  So it's been hard.  But I try to take one day at a time.

I would love to lose just 20 to 50 lbs.  I'm not big but just need too. :)

I just dropped 50 lbs. over the past 5 months.  Came off rather easy since I wasn't really trying to lose it.  Changed my eating habits.  I need to make sure I keep it off before I buy new clothes.  Feels strange having them hanging on me.
Have a wonderful day!

I'm 5' 4" and weigh 124. I weigh a lot more than I used to but I think I look healthier now. Even though I don't need to loose weight, I have to do something to my post child birth flabby belly. :confused1:

I'm 5'9" and weigh less than 130.  If I eat sweets and chips that changes, so I lay off!

I'm 5'8" and I was 220lbs several months ago at my heaviest weight. Now I am 205lbs. Although I didn't lose enough weight to make any difference on my clothing. I still wear the same size as before. It is much easier for me to lose weight in the summer but I don't know what I will do when the bad weather comes. I would really like to be back down to 180lbs at least since that was my weight in high school but I hate running and exercise unless it is an activity. Lately I have been gardening, painting and cleaning house that give my some exercise but I am sure that isn't enough.
