Where were you on 911 ten years ago?

I was working swing shift and when I got in and passed the cafeteria they had it on and I stopped in my tracks.  We stayed at work, but our supervisor told us we could watch some of the broadcasts.  He understood that it'd disrupt the work flow for a couple days.  We were in the Aerospace industry.

We had a small swing shift in our lab, just three people.  The other woman and I were quite moved by the events.     We were both energy workers.  The angels were busy that day.

I'm new here so bare with me. I was only...8 years old when this happened. I believe I was in school. But my father actually lived in New York at the time, Rochester actually. I was terrified when I found out what happened. I asked my mom if I could call my dad to check on him and make sure he was okay, even though he was hundreds of miles away from the city. I was only a little girl so I didn't really understand how far of a distance away New York City was. Of course now...I'd be horrified if something like this happened again. My father and his wife now live and work nearly in the city.

I was at work and breaking news came on the t.v. and i could not believe what i was seen

I was in the car when I heard the news. Got where I needed to go and on the television I remember seeing video of the towers falling. Absolutely devastating.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected.

I was living in Austin, TX and working for Time Warner. I had just gotten to work when it happened. I worked in the IT department at the time and we sat there and watched the news ALL DAY. Devastating.

I was busy in the kitchen, when all of a sudden the news caught my ear, and I looked but couldn't really believe what I was seeing.  My heart ached for all the people whose lives were changed in an instant in that terrible attack!

I was working for my local sheriff and we were all watching it on TV and in shock and having the same conservations all first responders all over the nation was having and then at lunch I realized my brother was in Kenya on a mission trip and I began to pray for his safety as well as all the others in danger in New York, Washington DC and Pennsylvania.

I was sitting in my 11th grade History class taking the Indiana State Graduation Exam.  I remember when the announcement come over the school sound system.  The teaches were told to turn on the televisions in all the rooms.  I remember seeing the plane hit the first tower...It made my stomach drop.  It was a sad day.

sorry to break it to ya but they nevered showed the first plane hit the building becuase that would mean it was expected. Which it was not. Either ur lying or ur getting the second plane confused with the first.

I was at home sleeping when my Mom called me on the phone and told me to put the TV on...that was such a sad sad day

I had just gotten to work in Quincy Massachusetts with my daughter.  Our office building was right next to high granite cliffs.  I felt safe there because no airplane could smash into the building because of the cliffs.

I wasn't married yet and was with my ex. We were sleeping and his mom called and told us, we turned on the Tv to see the smoke coming from the towers, couldn't believe it.

I was in my bedroom getting dressed for the day. A family member told me to turn on the T.V.
A month later, I was having lunch with friends. A lady having lunch with me said that her son was a few blocks away.

I was at school...at some point in the mid-morning, I think after spanish class, a friend told me that he had heard on the radio that the twin towers had been struck...it didn't really seem significant to me, considering how young I was and how little detail I knew about the entire situation...plus, I didn't really see videos of it until later in the day and even though I wasn't too far from NYC, my school was still functioning. I remember after lunch though that one of my teachers was worried because she thought her friend might be on the plane in PA....nonetheless when I got home, my life changed......

10 years ago, I went out for my morning walk to the park with my 1 year old. When I came back around 8 AM mountain time, I had a ton of messages on my answering machine from relatives about our country being under attack. I thought for sure they were exaggerating. I turned on the TV and saw what they were talking about. I was pregnant with my 2nd child and was wondering what kind of world I brought my kids into. Life has never been the same since.
