I have an old prepaid phone I never use, but still has minutes on it that I put that number down. This way it can't accidentally charge anything to my phone contract and things like that.

If they ask for a home phone number I just give it. It is listed in the phone book anyway.

I list the fax phone number.  It is a legitimate telephone number.  I just won't be bothered by the calls.
Have a wonderful day!

I have a phone number to give people I don't want to really contact me or to things such as FusionCash. It has a voice mail and spend 10 minutes checking the voice mail from it. The real people get my cell phone number

You can buy a voice mail box for like $10.00 dollars a month. I need a regular line because I often fax from it.
I was lying in bed the other night, looking up at the stars, and thinking, "Where in the heck is my roof?"

I give out my home phone which I don't answer, just listen to messages.  Important people get my cell #.

I don't like giving my number out either unless it is something I really want. I just don't want a bunch of soliters calling me.

I also have a Google phone number that goes directly to voice mail that I use for anytime I'm asked for a phone number by a company that will probably only use it for marketing purposes.

I have a Magic Jack (unplugged) for $2 a month so it send calls straight to voice mail, which then sends the recording to my email. If I ever do need another line, I just plug it in.

I made the mistake of using my cell number (its the only number I have) I probably get like 30 calls a day from people trying to sell me "get Rich quick kits"! Soooo annoying. I've started just to ignore them now.
