Why Do Some People Get Tattoos?

I love tattoos and piercings. I have 4 tattoos (inside left ankle, lower back, and inside both wrists) and 11 piercings (five in ears, tongue, eyebrow, and four in bottom lip a.k.a spiderbites).

 Tattoos are not for everybody.  I look at the tattoos show on tv and I like their stories why they got a tattoo.   I am glad tattoos shows are on tv to open our minds and not stereotype people.

i don't know why i got mine -- i was like 16 and my mom didn't want me to but my dad/stepmom took me.  I still like it and i'm 21 now but i'm just worried about what it will look like when i'm old and saggy haha

I'm already thinking about getting my first tattoo, but I need to make a little cash first. In my opinion the reason why I want to get a tattoo, is to express myself in a way or form of art, and why not on my body? & who cares about it when your old and saggy, you'll be ugly anyways no point in worrying about your saggy tattoo.

I have my son's name and birth date tattooed on my wrist. I started getting them when I was younger and except for my son's name (I got a year ago) I regret the ones I have and last year I started tattoo laser removal on one of them. You really have to be sure you 100% want the tattoo because usually once you get older you regret it  :-

I have a couple.  I got them to represent big parts of my life.  Other people might not understand them, but I don't care.  They mean alot to me.

Some people like the pain of it.  They are also addicting, once you have one you usually want several more before it is all said and done.  My first tattoo didn't really say much about me, but I thought it was pretty.  The rest do reflect who I am, and I choose to be.

My husband and I own a Tattoo shop. Most of the people that come in get a tattoo for sentimental reasons.

i would never want a tattoo. I dont understand the ones that are hidden or so that you can never see them youself like on your backside.

A lot of my friends get em cause its they're favorite song or quote....or they just think that they look really cool

I think they look cute and it depends on the story behind it.  my daugther has her son and husband tattooed on her,  and another that says "I am proud of my Marine".
