I pay by credit card. Gas is one of the categories on my credit card rewards program where I get extra percentage for using the card. I'll pay by cash on the gas stations where there is actually a difference between the type of payment options (i.e. 10 cents difference if paying by cash).

I have always used my debit card but since my bank has implemented the $3 a month debit card fee, I am using cash from now on! I'm tired of jumping through hoops to get my bank to waive fees that I have never had to pay before....suddenly they get into trouble on Wall Street and start charging ME all kinds of fees. I don't think so. So no debit card for me anymore. Cash it is. :)

I have been trying to get into the habit of spending cash most of the time, but when i fill gas and it costs over $50 I usually put it on my debit card

definitely use cash cuz some of the station charge fee to your card.  beside you get a few cents off for cash.

I normally do CC, I have a Valero card and I like to track my usage so, the best way is to use my CC.

I have to pay with cash, because if you with a debit card I would have to pay a different price.  I am trying to save money on gas.

I pay by CC just because it's quicker.  Used to pay with cash sometimes when you could pump it first.  Would always get a drink or snack when I went in to pay.  Now I never get anything extra when I fuel the car.

I only pay by cash. I had a bad experience once where when i used my debit card once, it put a hold of $75 for over a week!

My favorite gas station offers a reward card that gives points for gasoline & merchandise and the card can also be upgraded to use as a debit card (one card to swipe for points and payment at the pump).  I love it and so far have redeemed some of my points to get $30 in free gasoline this year. (I only put in $15 of gas a week and will only buy merchandise if it was something I was going to buy anyway and it's on sale. They also take coupons which has made for some really great deals).
