Food prices have gone up way too much. I spend on average about 200 to 300 a month. Kids eat a lot.

i don't extreme coupon, becuase i don't have enough room to store all those products, but it's not hard to do at all.  clip your coupons from newspaper, or coupon websites, organize them into the different categories, such as dry food, frozen food, cleaning supplies etc.  then make a grocery list of what you need, and if you have any coupons to go with them take them to the store in a seperate envelope.  when you get to the store, grab a store sale add, and go down each isle, if you see something on sale look for a coupon in your cataloged coupons.  i get about 200 and pay 60-75.  but i don't obsess, because if i need toilet paper, i'm going to buy it whether i have a coupon or even if it's not on sale(heck, what are you suppose to wipe the booty with, right) but theres nothing wrong with spending 3 hours at the grocery store once a month and saving a few hundred a year.  and you would be suprised by how many free products are out there, and that overage helps pay for thing that never have coupons such as fresh meat and produce.

I see a lot of people do one big trip a month.  I bet it saves money.  I tend to go once a week and use coupons and sales.  It varies from week to week.  I do know I have saved around $1000 by using coupons so far this year.

Atleast $300/mo. I am very good about watching sales and have started to get better at using coupons.

I would say I spend at least $300 to $400 a month and that is with a family of 3. Grocery prices have definitely went up! Plus, the recent tornado in my area where I would buy cheap groceries before, the stores were damaged, so I have to go to stupid Wal-Mart......sorry, I hate Wal-Mart. I can't beleive their prices on meat.....awful!  :angry7:
At least this weekend one of the stores I used to go to is opening up again (Aldi), so I will definitely be going there to save money like I used to. Hopefully, I can reduced the grocery bill down to $250 a month.  :P

We spend about $50/week.  I have always shopped sale items and clipped coupons.  We've learned to economize since our earnings dropped substantially this year.
Have a wonderful day!

I think you are paying too much. Use coupons when you go shopping and visit your local food banks and save a lot. Food banks are free. They provide free essentials. What you do not find at food banks, buy at the local stores.

I pick up things here and there if I'm at Wal-Mart or the dollar store. When I do finally go get groceries, I usually spend around $60.00 and they last about 3 weeks.

Yeah, we spend about $150-$200 each grocery trip....and that's just for two people. It does, however, last us two weeks. We try to do the shopping in one stop, getting everything we need to hold us over for the two weeks til our next trip. Groceries are so expensive these days! I don't care what anyone says, the price of groceries is going up, because 3 years ago, when I first got married, we only spend like $100-$150 for two weeks worth of groceries. Just another neccessity that big business takes advantage of on the average consumer.

My family puts in $300 to $400 a month even with coupon cutting/printing and substituting brands (i.e. store brands). I would like to cut this down even more, but there are particular items my family particularly wants in their diet.
